Jeanne, I had constant issues with this ,taking b12 fish oils, detoxing,,, trying everything I could, ect. It wasnt until i got tested for gluten intolerance or Celiac disease, that I eliminated the allergenic food tht was triggering my immunity to overreact and damage my digestive system, and immediatly lost the pins and needles in the feet. It is quite common in celiac diease to have neuropathy or nervous system issues of an unknown cause. I dealt with it, for over 2 years and had severa ltests to rule out MS, everything. Now after being on the diet 6 months, havent had it since. Its worth testing for it, just to begin eliminating triggers. Do you have digestive issues? Like IBS? Thyroid? Joint stiffness/ Skin issues? Rashes? headaches? female problems? Keep in mind, not oall people dont react the same way, but those arew a few of the 200 symtpoms celiac can casue. Love ,JUlie

Hi Jeanne:

I haven't posted in quite a while because I moved and haven't had Internet. Like you, I've been plagued with burning and tingling, especially in my feet and hands. I was tested for neuropathy back in November by a neurologist and was told I didn't have it.

After my explantation surgery in January, my symptoms became quite a bit better. Amazingly, as sick as I was, I was never officially diagnosed with anything, but I'm guessing yeast is the problem and have been treating it accordingly (Primal Defense, diet, supplements from a naturopathic doctor). I wish I'd been able to get explanted by one of the doctors recommended on this site and had proper follow-up treatment afterwards, but I had to go with my implanting doctor.

According to the girls on this site, using a far infrared sauna is helpful. I haven't been able to locate one in my area (and can't afford to buy one because I'm not working). I recently tried a regular sauna for a few weeks but it might've worsened my symptoms (toxins being released?); my naturopath said to lay off it because it could be causing me to overheat and irritating nerve endings.

Good luck,

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that I have been plagued

with neuropathy as well. I started using a regular

sauna a month ago and it has helped me alot. I am not

sure you can overheat your nerve endings.

Kate,

Welcome . . . I think you're new!! If not, welcome

back!

You can expect your symptoms to worsen when you detox

.. . . The trick is to balance detoxing and herxing so

you can tolerate it. The fact that you do feel worse

is an indication you're detoxing something that needs

work.

If you can tolerate exercise, you may find that

walking is enough to get you started sweating. . .

After you've learned to separate the herx feelings

from being ill, you'll come to appreciate the herx

because you know you're cleansing your body and will

soon feel better than before.

We have quite a number of detox programs you could try

.. . . Just click on the first link at the bottom of

this message . . then on Healing Therapies. Someone

here has tried each of them and can help you with

questions.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Yes, Rogene, I agree -- my neuopathy improved considerably after explant.

B12 is supposed to help with nerve damage, also, as well as magnesium.

I was prescribed neurontin, but about that time I read all the bad press about

it that I

stopped it! I take Cymbalta, which is an antidepressant but also helps with

neuropathic

pain. I needed both, so it was a big help.
