Guest guest
Hi Beth, Thank you so much, it does make me feel better to know that you feel better even with some of your capsules still in. I hope the same thing happens to me. How long did you have your implants in? How long have you had them out? What kind of symptoms were you having and how soon after implant did they start? I had my implants for 18 months, I am thinking that this is why the capsule was so thin(the Dr said it was like cellophane and when he scraped at it the capsule would just shred and the more he scraped the more bleeding it was causing) I hope he is being honest with me and had my best interest at heart not just more concerned that he was already running two hours behind schedule and couldn't be bothered to do the extra work. I had told him several times that I wanted all the capsule out and he said he would do his very best to get it all out(I guess as much as he safely could). My implants were very soft and as I said I did not have them very long. I would be curious to speak to some other women who only had their implants for a short time and see if they had similar experiences when it came to explant as far as their scar capsule being very thin. I do have fibro symptoms which I have been treating for the last few months with magnesium and an herbal anti-inflammatory called Zyflamend which seems to help and I have been able to get off the Advil that I was eating like M & M's. I still have muscle pain but it is bearable so hopefully now that the implants are out it won't get worse. The brain fog does seem to be a little better since explant. It seems to come and go instead of being constant. I am still having muscle twitches and tingling in my hands, but the constant headache is gone so that is good news. I would love to hear back for you Beth to see what your symptoms were, what has seemed to help and if your Dr is helpful to you and what is he doing to help you. At my last visit to my primary care a few weeks ago he basically told me that all of my symptoms for the last 18 months were all in my head and maybe I am depressed. He actually said" if you get the implants removed and you feel better it just proves that it was all in your head". Needless to say I need to find a new Dr. Oh, well. I did want to thank you Beth, You have given me hope. Thanks, "Beth S." <schaffe88@...> wrote: Hi, I read your story and was just infuriated. I'd like to see how the doctor would feel if someone implanted him and waited several years, removed the implants alone and not the capsule. However, I would like to tell you that I still have some of my capsule in. This however was something that we agreed upon. My doctor removed all of my capsule except what was left on the rib cage. He told me that my capsule was tissue paper thin and would be risky. This I know for a fact since my implants were very soft before removal. Not sure why some get so hard and others don't. There also wasn't any rupture. I sent my implants to Dr. Blais. I'm waiting on the report but already know that he found different forms of bacteria and I had blood within the wall of the capsule (where the silicone is). That is another story though. I'm sure that he didn't want to remove all of the capsule because it is just so much easier for them. I will let you know, and I hope this will make you feel a bit better....immediately following surgery, I started feeling better. I just went to the beauty shop last week and hadn't seen the girl that cuts my hair since explant. It has been two months. She was in total shock at how different I looked. Not just some weight loss but she said that my color was back, my hands which were slightly purple now are normal looking again. I also had alot of puffiness in my face which has also gone away along with the sore throats and ear aches. I still have fibro problems when I'm very stressed and I have been lately. The fatigue is the only thing that hasn't improved but I have hope that it will. I hope this makes you feel better. I really feel for you and hope that soon you will also start feeling better. I think what the doctor did to you is horrible. Did you sign any papers stating that he would be doing a total capsulectomy? Because if you did have this agreement with him and then he didn't do that, I'm just wondering if you have a case. Take care of yourself and I'm hoping that you will start feeling better very soon. Guest guest
I hope I did not make you feel worse. I just want for you to have the peace of mind that for me came with knowing everything was out. However, the worse thing is how you were treated. I am wondering why if this Dr. was taken off Lynda's list why it would be kept on this list. I understand two girls had a good experience, so maybe he was just having a bad day. However, no Dr. should treat a patient the way you were. Did he agree in consultation to remove the capsule? I wonder if you should complain to the board or something about how you were treated. I really am sorry , I hope you feel better.
