Interesting post. How about bringing to inquiry this belief: My

thinking stops me in my tracks whenever I attempt to do worthwhile

things.

Or, she needs her fear in order to make decisions.

Or, a little more radical, I need to do inquiry in order to get

better.

Or, I need to get better.

Or, perhaps, do a Judge your Neighbor worksheet on Fear: " I am

angry at my fear because it prevents me from finishing inquiry, etc. "

Just some idle thoughts.

love

Hi Lanett,

I think you need to identify the thought (story) you are believing

which is causing you to feel fear and avoid inquiry. identifies

the process of creation as THINK, FEEL, ACT, HAVE. So you think a

thought about inquiry, you feel fear, you don't finish the worksheet

and you have a miserable life. LOL ... pretty simple huh!

So when you feel the fear just sit with it and notice what you are

thinking. At first you may not be able to identify any thoughts.

That's ok. Just label what you are experiencing as " confused "

thoughts. But don't stop there, keep noticing. Eventually one or two

thoughts may become clear, you will know those are the ones you are

looking for because they will be being repeated over and over again.

Put them down on paper, which freezes those confused thoughts so that

you can inquire into them.

Finding the thoughts (stories) running our lives can be so difficult,

because we have been conditioned to focus on the effects

(feelings/actions) rather than turn within and identify the true

cause of our problems. Don't give up Lanett, just keep gently

noticing, and you will see ....

Loving what is, precious, and that would be you.

Linett - I have also felt fear about doing the work - about finding

overpowering feelings. A friend helped me to break the work down

into little pieces and do it on fairly ordinary thoughts. For

example:

I was

Is that true? Yes, seems to be.

Can you be absolutely sure that it's true that your are disappointed

that it was pouring rain and cold all day today. Well, maybe I would

have been disappointed anyway. And maybe I was glad because we need

the rain and it's washing away what's left of the snow. So, no I

can't absolutely know that it's true.

How do you react when you think that thought? grumpy, down, wistful

about beautiful spring days.

Who would you be without that thought?

I would be more at peace. I would be content with what the weather

is doing, which after all is " God's " business anyway. Nothing I can

do about it.

Does that seem that it would be easier to do? To start with

ordinary, not particularly stressful thoughts?

Keep with it, it will get easier.
