Guest guest
Semco, etc.: I see no way to prevent exposure to ambient VOCs from the oil-related chemicals or dispersants on the water surface or shoreline other than closing doors and windows or wearing PPE. Go outside when the wind is blowing from the north. I think burning oil creates airborne particulate contaminants that are more harmful than the volatile compounds that people will continue to be exposed to on the water and land. The diesel exhaust from all of the ships working in the Gulf is bad enough. My opinion is that this is an unprecedented disaster and that tar balls from the subsurface oil plume will be washing up not just on the Gulf shores but along the entire east coast for many years to come. Other than that, have a nice day. Steve Temes CoreExit Chemical- Gulf Oil Spill I see not talk of this on the group. Is there a particular reason why? Looking for truth about CorExit. Many people where I live had felt ill in the last few days, burning eyes, noses, moth and throat. And headaches. We live on the Gulf Coast and are now experiencing tar balls and expected sheen within 24 hours. Could it be the CorExit affecting people. We got some of the air from the burn off a couple of weeks ago and the effects were troubling. Instant headache, blurry vision, etc. May I please get some opinions on this? Thank you very much.
