Guest guest
Hi Elisha, My daughter has had hair loss with the helment. It shows most around the forehead where the helmet sits and in front of ears where the sideburn area is. Also, at some points on her head, the hair seem lighter. I found more people on the CT website discussion board who say that their child also has had hair loss and that it grows back no problem. --- In Plagiocephaly , " elishamac1 " <elishamac@e...> wrote: > My ds has been in his Starband just shy of two weeks. Guest guest
I've heard people here say that their baby lost hair while in the band. did not lose any hair - in fact, she grew a lot of hair during her time in the helmet! I'm sure it will grow back. Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma --- In Plagiocephaly , " elishamac1 " <elishamac@e...> wrote: > My ds has been in his Starband just shy of two weeks. Guest guest
Hello Everyone...I went to the internist yesterday afternoon. I have lost even more hope! The internist heard my story, asked questions and ordered blood work. Deep down, she told me she doesn't feel that any of my blood work is going to come back abnormal. She thinks I am a body of health and that she doesn't even know what to test me for as I don't have any "health" issues other than hair loss. I took a sample of my hair (BALL) and brushed my hair in her office so she could see the amount of hair I am losing. She told me she absolutely believes me, but she doesn't have the experience or knowledge of implant poisoning to know what to test me for or how to treat me. She didn't even know that implants had metal in them. She thought they were just saline filled in a plastic (Plastic?!) shell. I also had a phone consultation with a woman in charge of a wellness center. She was cured of Lupus herself through diet and vitamins. I thought maybe she could help. She heard my story and told me she couldn't help, or didn't know what to do to help me. We decided I would get started on her vitamins and maybe build up my immune system and see if that helps. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't know what else to do! I will wait for my test results to come back (Friday) and go from there. Does anyone know if Dr. Kolb would read them if I faxed them to her? I live in Ca. and cannot visit her. Thanks for listening! Marie Re: Re: New member Kenda,I'm delighted to hear you've decided against implants. That's one decision you'll never regret . . . Guest guest
Marie, One thing we've learned is not to put too much weight on medical doctor's opinions. After all, they told us breast implants were safe . . . they told us our illnesses weren't related to implants . . . they told us we wouldn't get better after getting them out, etc., etc. , etc. Dr. Kolb will consult with you on the phone, and earlier " homemadesoaper " <skaggs@...> said that her naturopath will consult with you on the phone. I'm confident you will find the answer if you keep working at it. . . But, once you find the answer, it may take a few months to know you found it! Stressing over it isn't going to make it better. Keep taking good care of yourself, and keep searching. We'll keep praying that you find the answer! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Dearest Marie: I'm so sorry that you have to go through all this. Your health is far more important than your hair loss. I have lost all of the hair on my body, I will never have to shave my legs or under my arms again...pubic hair is gone too. My doctors have told me that the hair that I have lost will never grow back. The good news is that the hair on my head was falling out like yours, I would just stand in the shower and cry as it went down the drain. We have noticed that my hair is growing back slowly, I showed my husband last night. I have these little short bits of hair growing on my head. My left eyebrow is very thin as well, but this can be filled in with a pencil. My doctor just laughs when I tell him that my hair is so thin because he is bald. He too feels that my health is far more important than the loss of my body hair. I no longer have incontinence and many things are improving as I stay away from stress. Honey, I guess what I'm trying to say is that your hair will grow back; however, it will take time. Your body is in the process of healing. Take care dear friend...love...Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```````````````````````````` Re: Re: New member Kenda,I'm delighted to hear you've decided against implants. That's one decision you'll never regret . . . Guest guest
Hello, I am new to this post. I have an ongoing hairloss problem as well. I had implants in 98 and developed hashimotos hypothyroid autoimmune disease in 02. My mother is hypo thyroid but not necessarily hashis auto immune. It is possible that I would have developed it anyway. In 96 pre-implants, I did lose a chunk of my front hair right below the center hairline. It was right around when I went into menopause and I thought that was the cause. I had so much hair that no one else seemed to notice but me (and one hairdresser). I didn't do anything and it never grew back. But after my dx of hashis in 02 I started shedding like mad. I went on thyroid meds which I have never been able to regulate, I still feel terrible on the synthetic meds. I lost about 50% or even more of the top part and temples of my hair. In Dec 04 I went to a homepath and he prescribed silica, 15 pellets under the tongue in one dosage daily, and the hairloss immediately stopped. I have very little loss. However, my hair on top still looks so thin and I think what is happening is there is no regrowth, and I am going crazy thinking I have AGA now. This is so distressing to me, I can't even sleep at night. I can't get anyone to accurately dx me. I even went to the famous Svenson hairclinic here and they said I had pitriosis capitis which is basically dandruff, which I don't see at all. The fact is my part appears to be widening a bit now although I still have lots of hair on sides and back. So I don't know if the implants were the cause but am considering removing them. I contacted Dr. Melmed but he answered by mail if it was hairloss that was making me take them out, I should leave them in. I am still hopefully in dialogue with him so I will try to find out why he said that. I am very tall and very flat chested so am afraid of what the end result will look like as well but frankly my implants are so small, 150cc, they almost look ridiculous and they don't look normal as well. Sorry for going on and on and on.....try the silica, it will help with hairloss but not necessarily regrowth.. .... > Hello Everyone...I went to the internist yesterday afternoon. Guest guest
Hi.. well, synthetic T4 is FAMOUS for its hair loss affect, absolutely FAMOUS for it. Not everyone experiences it, but a large number do. Did you ever consider either adding t3 or switching to armour? I know of plenty of people who have made the switch and it has resolved the hair loss issue.interart81 <interart81@...> wrote: Hello, I am new to this post. I have an ongoing hairloss problem aswell. Guest guest
Hi , My computer has been down for the past few days. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I am sorry to hear about the hair loss and other symptoms you are currently dealing with. I do know exactly what you are going through with the decision to take the implants out due to hair loss. That's a tough question because you could be flat chested AND bald if this is not the answer. Well, if Dr. Melmed told you NOT to take them out if it was only due to the hair loss, than his experience from the past must be that your hair doesn't stop falling out. Otherwise he would have encouraged you to have them removed right away and said yes that it will stop. I had my implants removed 3/03 and so far, it hasn't stopped! I can't find any answers. My only suggestion to you is that if you are having other symptoms, then I would definitely have them removed. I know that my hair loss is definitely from the implants because I was picture perfect with a healthy head of full hair. One to two Months after implants, my hair started dropping out! It's the worst when I shower or get my follicles wet. Something in the implants must trigger your immune system to make your hair fall out. So far this only happens to very few women! Myself, and You...so far. Others have thinning hair, but no one has been losing 200-300 hairs per shower! Then there is still brushing after that, another 100+. It's horrible! Either way, implants are not healthy for you! Your hair loss issue might not be resolved and yet it might for you. Just like you took that chance putting them in that you might get ill from them, you have to take the chance when getting them out. It's just a smarter, healthier decision...have you read some of the women who have been so ill from them! Guest guest
Dawn, my FTs have always been within normal range, does that exclude my need for T3 or could I include it as well? Does it soften the effects of the T4 alone? Are there any natural T4s (e.g. that are not synthetic)...and are all naturals (e.g. armour, westhroid) all combo with T3 and T4? --- dawn Aldredge <daldre@...> wrote: > Hi.. well, synthetic T4 is FAMOUS for its hair loss > affect, absolutely FAMOUS for it.
