Guest guest
Hi . The recovery for an explant is 100 times easier than with the implant. En Bloc means that the implant is removed along with the capsule that your body has created around it. If the implant is popped out and the capsule is left in, then you are more likely to continueto have problems. I had my explant in June and was out walking around the mall the next morning even with the drains in, that is how wonderful I felt during my recovery! I think I was bedridden for the better part of a month with my implant surgery. --- In , " sukeekitty " <sukeekitty@y...> wrote: > > So what is the surgery and recovery like with explants. Guest guest
Hi - that's really good news, because I found the BA to be alot more painful than I ever anticipated, so I'm encouraged to hear that explantation is less painful. I've heard a number of people say that, but for some reason the more this is confirmed, the better I feel. I'm just trying to keep the end goal in mind, get these things out of my body. I won't even buy fall/winter clothes right now, because I want nothing that was purchased to fit my current shape. We're remodeling our master bedroom and I don't want to sleep in it until I'm explanted - right now I feel like the guest room became my sick room, and I don't want to carry any negative vibes into the new bedroom. Guest guest
It is easier, . Recovery from explant is much easier, and my explant was still over 5 hours because I had ruptured implants and very thin capsules - even after 20 years ! I am curious - Lynda, you had double lumen also. Were your capsules thin also? Most women with silicone implants this long have thick capsules. Dr. Kolb said mine were thin, and the silicone had escaped into my chest & system. - An en bloc explant means that the surgeon removes the capsule (scar tissue surrounding the implant) with the implant in one piece. This prevents spillage. Of course, that may not be possible, as in my case I guess, when the implant is ruptured and capsule is thin and did not contain the silicone. Still, it is important to remove both implant and capsule however it can be removed. -- In , " sukeekitty " <sukeekitty@y...> wrote: > > So what is the surgery and recovery like with explants.
