They convicted a murderer in 2 days flat. I guess she had some pull....LOL. She was picked on Monday and ended Wednesday evening. They said she even got them a better meal than usual...LOL. Guest guest
Hi all... I was chosen to sit on a jury last Monday.. as of tonight, Friday, the trial is still going on... and on... and on... so, tomorrow, Saturday, we go back for hopefully the closing arguments and deliberations... I have never been so tired, mentally and physically as after 5- 12 hour days hearing the evidence. It concerns a now 25 year old male who left a daquri shop with a blood alcohol level of 0.25, and drove his truck into a crowd of people standing behind a barrricade watching a Mardi Gras parade. I thought I would explode from gas issues while in the jury box! At one point, I was sure I would have to ask the judge for a bathroom break in the middle of a testimony, but thankfully made it til the end. 14 of us use 1 bathroom in the jury room. We are not sequestered, but go everywhere as a group and with supervision. It has been very interesting, and I can tell you for a certainty, I that I don't want to be a lawyer! I'm so glad to read of Mike's good news, and hope all are well. Betsy
Guest guest
Oh Betsy! You have my sympathies! I know the pain of needing to pass gas and not being able to for a long time. I've only been on one jury and it was a quick case but I'd like to do it again sometime. Maybe not as long as yours, though. Interestingly enough, my trial involved an alledged case of drunk driving. But, we were truly convinced she wasn't drunk at the time of the arrest so we found her not guilty. I'm not sure I would have made the same decision today. I've gotten less flexible as I age. (In many ways!) Hugs! Tracey > Hi all...
