Guest guest
I know you are nervous...I was so scared and didn't know what to expect! The day of surgery, I was on the bed and saw my PS and just started to tear up. I was so scared to be putting my family through this again. He just held my hand and told me he was going to take care of me and not to worry, he wouldn't let anything happen to me. He was so comforting and full of love and concern for my feelings. After he marked me up with the pen, he put his hand on his stomach and told me something I will never forget, "I truly feel from the bottom of my heart that you are doing the right thing for yourself." Again, I started to cry. That was what I needed, just a little reassurance. That is my comfort to you. "Your doing the right thing for YOU." I felt so good when I woke up from surgery! The very first thing I noticed was that I could breathe! I was waiting for the bomb to drop because I couldn't imagine feeling this light and free. It was unbelievable. A little groggy from the anesthesia but other than that I felt so good. I am so excited for you. It really is something to look forward to. Please know that you are doing something so good for you and your family. I am two and a half weeks past explant. Last night my daughter said, "Mommy, can you really pick me up and squeeze me tight?" I said, "YES!" She then replied, "I am so happy to have my Mommy back!!!" I didn't ever want to stop squeezing her. She's almost 7. I know the same will be true for you shortly. You'll see. I will be praying that He will comfort you through surgery. Marie RE: getting ready for explant DAWN Thanks Sue… Thanks Anita… So I won’t feel like I have an elephant sitting on my chest while I am waking up from the surgery? I’m serious.. really? When I came round my dad was sitting next to my bed, I can tell you the relief was instant I had survived and those rotten things gone forever, the pain was minimal nothing like when I had them out in, I was really pleased. Try not to worry to badly, easier said than done I know but I promise you its not like having them in. Take care you will be fine. Sue. Guest guest
Thanks Marie… So you could breathe? That was one of my next questions. I was gasping for air literally, when I had them put in. This is good to know. Thank you for the encouragement. And don’t worry, I know your hair situation will get straightened out. It’s beautiful to hear you connect with your little girl.
