Guest guest
Gail, I sent the email with HTML formatting instead of plain text. It was an oversight on my part. All email should be sent to a group list with plain text because not everyone has an email reader that can interpret HTML coding. HTML coding appears as jumbled letters if you don't have an email program capable of reading it. Some internet email clients, such as juno and hotmail, can't read HTML. Some free email services that allow you to check your mail on a web page can't read it. It's all new to me but Barb Ballard was kind enough to point this out after I had been sending tons of the stuff wrong. Ursula Holleman Re: IVIG From: G6517@... Guest guest
Thanks for the input. is being tested for HIV - results should be back today. I'm sure it will be negative, so then we will talk about what to do next. So, it's an injection correct? Doesn't he have a great fear of needles now? However, he has a tendency to have a few mild reactions to it--mainly his BP drops extremely low and he complains of headaches and slight nausea for a day or two after. Some kids have more severe reactions while some have none. As for age, he was 31/2 when he first started on it. He in now 61/2. I know some kids who are started on it much younger, so I think it depends on if it is an option for his treatment or not. Check with his doctor. Guest guest
Hi , is going on 15 months (is 12 months corrected age) and he has been on IVIG since May (three doses so far), and he has done well with it. He runs a little bit of a temp but tylonal takes care of it. The IVIG is an IV and it goes for about 3-6 hours in our case. It is definitely a whole day event. does not like being stuck, but he had a broviac (central line which came out) and now he has a ChemoPort which will be accessed for the first time on Aug. 16th. anyhow, does well on the IVIG and seems in better health since he started it. , wife to Preston, mother to Shelbie 8, Mandy 3 and 14 months Moderator of Military EFMs, IVH-Hydrocephalus, NewView and NICU Families Registered Chat for Preemies Friends and Family. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- HEART-----Heart, intellect, awareness, mind, inner person, inner feelings, deepest thoughts, inner self.
