Please enlighten me on this. Thank You, Vasko
Guest guest
writes, " Please excuse my ignorance on this but what is RSD? " The following is my definition and might not be complete: RSD = Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy aka newer name is CRPS = Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Type 1 or 2 Causaulgia. It starts usually as a trauma or injury to the sympathetic nervous system. This may be minor or major. The pain may become disproportionate to the injury. Pain and symptoms do become disproportionate. The sympathetic nervous system is not adept in dealing with pain and injury as it deals with such functions as circulation, temperature, skin, hair growth, cardio pulmonary and digestive controls. There are stages to this disease that may be defined or overlap. In majority of people, the malady remains localized. In some, in might spread to other body areas in particular if further injury or disease occurs. If it does spread, it might become systemic. I have had to deal with a lot of pain in my life. On a scale for me, a simple headache or toothache is a (1). Severe third degree burns are a (5). Surgical intervention sites are a (5). Kidney stones to 5MM are a (7). CRPS/RSD pain is a (10). There are good information websites that I would be glad to share off line to the group. Ken - Colorado Springs
