Guest guest
Hi Beth not really - still doing the baths. I have been seeing the Dr twice a week and have been doing acupuncture and the infrared sauna - I went again this morning. I still feel pretty decent and am getting ready to start my second bottle of bath detoxing. I have been taking a ton of herbal stuff lately for my thyroid and staph infection in my chest. I have been herxing a little bit - not too bad. How are things with you? did you buy the bath soaks? love shari
Guest guest
Shari be careful, I was reading about herbs being dangerous if mixed with medications. I will try to find the article to show you if I can. It says that herbs, despite being natural, can still be dangerous and when mixed with some drugs, even over the counter, can cause things, including liver disease. I am glad your feeling better, is the acupuncture painfull? Is it expenisve? I do not think it is covered on my insurance. What exactly is it supposed to do? Guest guest
Annie, You are so right. Exercise does wonders. But for some of us we have to detox to be able to get to the point of even doing the lightest workout. For example, a year ago I could not walk thirty feet from my car to my front door without feeling like I was going to pass out. But now, thanks to detoxing I can actually walk around the block and do some light weightlifting! I have only been on this group for about a year and I have gotten the education of my life as far as health goes thanks to the loving support and excellent information I have received from all the wonderful ladies who are so eager to help and share. Unfortunately we live in a very toxic world where we all could benefit from making various detoxing methods a regular part of our lives and regular exercise is definitely at the top of the list. Love, Anita Re: shari--how are you doing? Rogene to be honest with you I am not that concerned with the scientific in's and out's of it all. I am going by actual stories of women I have read lately and talked with on other sites that have gotten better that say exercise was key to their health returning. That to me speaks more than someone especially the company trying to sell the sauna. I am not saying sauna's are not a good thing and I am going to try to get in one as soon as I can, however, I have found that when I exercise I feel better. So for me I just am going by what is making me feel better. In the end it is not so much how you get there but that you get there don't you think? I wish I could recall the one woman I spoke with the other day she had an amazing story of healing that was really unlike anything I have heard so far. She is cured, actually was completely cured within 2 years. She said that her symptoms went away over a period of 18 months to 2 years but that even during that 18 months she was feeling good, it just took 2 entire years to be 100%. I believe her story is on a few sites that I have been to. I try to get as many ideas, opinions and methods as I can, look into them, feel them out, try what seems easiest first and go with that. Things like changing my diet of course came first, and that has paid off, getting off my medications that I could also helped a lot. The exercise is helping with my stiffness and pain, and so far the only real set back came when I traveled to St. Louis to see my in laws. I felt terrible I have had a hard time with sleep since going off the sleeping pills, but I want to see if I can actually get off them you know. I want to just drink a hot cup of herbal tea and see if that will be enough to keep me asleep at night. If not of course I will go back to the pills, I have to sleep espeicaly with my son being as much of a demand on me both physically and mentally as he can be. You are very correct in the spiritual connection. I am very glad I have my religion to help me. I am and always have been very involved in my church. Even when I was ill. I could not always get there, but was there of course, in spirit. Rogene I love the advice and support of this group and like the methods you mention and find them intriguing and interesting, but as they say there is more than one way to skin a cat. I believe in the exercise programs that I have heard several recovered women speak of and not only is it proven that exercise can and does improve our circulation, cardiovascular system,it affects our moods, it releases endorphins that are very powerful anti depressants, with my long history of depression I feel this is very beneficial to me. Not to mention the fact that it is good for our skeletal system, muscular system and our bones. Did you know that once you get past 35 years old your body loses bone mass steadily, leading you to osteoporosis and that weight bearing exercise can reverse all that?Did you know the statistics for heart disease and obesity in this country are sky high because we are becoming a sedentary nation we drive everywhere, we fly, but we do not run, walk, bike, swim. I mean Rogene I know that supplements and detoxing is touted as the way on this group and I agree with you on many of these points but nothing, really has the anti aging effects as exercise, and nothing makes you feel better or look better than exercise. Not only that but with fibromyalgia everything I have learned about it points to the fact that you have to exercise to some degree (whatever you can do) or you will get worse. I get the feeling sometimes that for some reason maybe some people on this group do not like exercise as a means or way to get healthy. I could be wrong, I guess, I don't know. I am not sure why anyone would not want to exercise. I mean I take that back I know many reasons people do not want to exercise. People say they do not have the time, or that they are too busy, al lot of people make excuses it is sad, but true. I feel so sorry for the overweight people I see they have such a hard time getting in and out of seats on airplanes and buses and they just seem so uncomfortable. I also know that for those with FMS it can be hard to make yourself get going when it hurts at first. It is almost a battle in the beggining and easy to say oh well, forget it, it hurts too much, but, I swear from everything I have learned I just see this as a very important step that needs to be taken to make a full recovery. Ha HA of course Rogene darling I could be totally wrong. I am not expert on any of this. I just am spouting off ideas that run through my head when I do research this is what I have found so far to be steady and run through the stories of success in health and in life. The happiest best looking, healthy looking people are usually those you see running down the street or hiking in the mountains, skiing around my part of the country is a big one, and other things, tennis, biking, vollyball, girls playing soccer, athletes have amazing health and I believe it comes from the way they condition their bodies. I often times wish I could have been an exercise physiologist. It is all so fascinating. Well Rogene my dear, have a great night. I hope I can sleep without those pills!I will do my exercise and continue to give you all updates at least as long as you are all willing to listen~! Oh one other thing, I found that to be a strange thing that you said about my situation not being as dire as other womens. I was extremely ill Rogene. I had been on strong morphine for 8 years, sick for over 10 years, leaking implants, I had chronic pain, brain fog and dizzyness 24 hours a day and was diagnosed with FMS and sjorgrens syndrome as well as mixed connective tissue disease. I have been on disability for years. So I think that you do not quite understand how sick I was and maybe that is my fault maybe I have not been very clear with you. Trust me Rogene I did not think I would get so much better so fast, especially with the leakage and all. I think the reason I am getting better so fast is for one thing, positive attitude, diet changes, of course Dr.Rockwell is a huge factor as he did get all the goop out of me and the capsules. I also think my exercise and my desire to get better and my positive outlook and spiritual outlook as well as my ability to get up and push myself again and again when some would maybe give up. Yes I think that may be why you were confused about how sick I was . Maybe I did not make it clear, hopefully this now has made it clearer. Have a good night and I will talk to you all soon and keep you updated. Who knows, maybe I am on to something that will help others too!It has certainly turned my health around in a hurry. I will make notes and try to track everything I do so as to share it with the group and to be able to help the other girls that are in similiar situations and need advice. How does that sound? I think it is awesome that we can share ideas becasue we can really contribute to eachother. I do not see any exact science going on here, just a bunch of sick women trying different things to get better. If what I do works I just want to help by sharing it, just like you all do right? It is perfect that way. That is gods way!Annie The toxins released by far infrared saunas aredifferent than thos released by exercise - there arescientific tests to back that up . . . Far infraredlight penetrates the tissue and causes the body to useit's own mechanisms to bring about healing. They're using far infrared saunas at the Mayo clinicnow. Patty has been using a sauna for years. Infraredtreatment has beneficial effects for fibromyalgia too!It also increases the heart rate, improvingcardiovascular function for those who, for whateverreason, cannot get about enough to exercise to anaerobic level. My daughter (and OT) has seen amazing improvementamong Alzheimer's patients (no placebo effect there)for aching joints and long standing open wounds.Scientific tests show improvement in peripheralneuropathy after just one treatment.Part of detoxing is a temporary feeling of discomfort. It takes time to get used to the process. Until youtry, it's difficult to understand why you would wantto do something that makes you feel a bit worse - eventemporarily. But after becoming accustomed to theprocess, you learn to welcome the feeling ofdiscomfort, because it's followed by noticableimprovement that has lasting effects.Annie, I'm glad you are getting better throughmeasures you are comfortable with. Your situationobviously wasn't as dire as some of the other womenwho come here. In other words, what works for you maynot be the answer to other women's problems. For that, I believe we need to make a spiritualconnection to God - turning our lives over to Him andtrust that He will guide us to the information we needfor our own healing. Guest guest
Hi Shari, So far the only real relief I am getting is from the sauna. I have only had the bad smell one time. I am sweating great in there though. My hair is kind of sticky too when I get out. Today I got in and smelled like normal sweat. I'm going to order those baths, you have me intrigued! Can you give me the steps on what to do? For example, do you use a full tub of water, how hot, etc? hugs, Beth > Hi there > > Sorry for the late response - I have not been online in a few days. Guest guest
Beth the baths have instructions on them - I think it is 4 ozs at first then 8 ozs every few days thereafter. I would still think that you should advise your Dr. first before trying it because I am not a Dr. but I have seen it online available to order. I have a large garden tub... I am not sure of how much it hold but it is larger than the average regular tub holds. I fill it up high enough to cover my chest and rotate from side to side to make sure both chest sides are under the water. I soak for 30 min at a time. I hit the sauna again today.... I think I have been herxing bad lately as I have felt like I have the flu after every treatment which is good - it means I am getting rid of these nasty toxins!!!! I don't like to feel sick but am happy as I know that I am that much closer to getter better. Actually I am getting ready for another bath soak.... I will see how much crap comes out!!! good luck love shari
Guest guest
Shari, My son built a sauna board for me. It only cost about $100. The instructions are on Mercola's website. Love, Anita Re: shari--how are you doing? HiI do not own a sauna - my Dr. has one and I use it there. I am so broke now it is crazy... I wish I could buy one!!! My Dr. also prescribed and sold the bath soaks - the are designed to remove silicone supposedly. I definitely have stuff coming out!! Liquid needle is the name brand but I would say to make sure you use it under a Dr.s approval.good luckshari Opinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed health care professionals. Guest guest
they sink to the bottom and the next day when your tub is dry you see them and scrape them out. it looks like powder - very strange. I was looking at mine this morning and more came out than usual - don't know what that is all about! shari
