> Hi Folks,

I never thought of the rotator cuff muscles until 2 of my formerly

athletic siblings tore theirs.

My brother, a former hockey, soccer and squash player has torn both, and

has been doing 30 pound bench presses for years.

My sister, a golfer, couldn't brush her own hair or put a coat on alone

for 6 months.

To spare myself a similar fate, I performed the " best " dumbell exercise

illustrated first at the bottom of the Wikipedia article.

In the version I used, from 'The Great Dumbell Handbook', by Jesperson

and Potvin, you only raise the forearm to parallel to the floor instead

of 45 degrees.

I started with a 5 pound dumbell.

It seems that a bullworker stretched in front of you forearms parallel

to the floor would be at least as effective, and require less re-

positioning.

They recommend squeezing a rolled-up towel under the elbow to stabilize

the ball in its socket.

Are there any specific rotator cuff exercises or hints for the

Bullworker?

Thanks,

Marc

Marc, can you access our " Files " section?

I described what I thought would be a good exercise for

the rotator cuff in one of the files there. See if this

link will take you to it:

Our BWs are really versatile, and it's up to us to get

the most out of it.

Gerry,

Yes, the first exercise you described is the one I was adapting from

the dumbell exercise.

Interesting reading your other adaptions too.

The files are a great ressource.

I'm discovering that.

Thanks,
