Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am the mother of a three year old with a severe developmental delay and sensory problems. He has no ehcholalia or tics but stims. He has had lots of ot and speech in our home but now we are looking for a new program or therapy. We did his IEP but could not find a school that we wanted to leave him at. Right now he and I are at home together. he is as sweet as could be, a little hyper, and disorganized. He is at about a 24 month level, now. His dx is pdd nos but I have been told they just gave us that for lack of a better term. Most who see him say he is not in the spectrum, since he initiates interaction and pretends. I go back and forth, but mostly I just want to hear his voice! He has come a long way. I just want other moms to talk with. This seems like an active list. I saw a post from weeks ago about deep pressure. My son's life was changed by a Bennick vest, a neoprene velcro thing we call 'the squeezie.' Jude wears it an hour a day and it is the best thing we have ever tried. It is so calming and helps him get organised. So, anyway, hi everyone. Has anyone else had a dx like ours? thanks, , mom of Jude, 3.
