Guest guest
No one has a percentage, as doctors do not report illnesses, women do not recognize that illness is from their implants, and many women do not become ill for 5, 10, or longer years. It is difficult. There are hundreds of thousands of women with illness from implants in this country alone. We believe that implants will cause most women to become ill over time, it is just not know for each woman what that time line will be. Guest guest
Leigh, I doubt there is a woman in this country that doesn't have some feelings of inferiority about our body with all the unreal pictures we are bombarded with in the media. . . . Those photos are so manipulated and retouched! The women are padded, taped and squeezed! I got my breast implants because most of my breast tissue left with the milk after my first child was born. My husband didn't seem to notice . . . But, after we were divorced, the first man with whom I had a relationship ridiculed me. . . I thought I couldn't face life with my saggy boobs! WRONG! I could have gotten a lift! I don't know that there's a woman on this group who would consider getting implants again. We've come to love our bodies and to care for our body more lovingly than ever before! The statistics aren't great . . . As many as 45% of women getting implants after cancer suffer further problems - It's unreal, because they use the trauma of losing a breast as the reason breast implants should stay on the market! . . . But, after their immune system is wacked by chemo and radiation, they are the worst choices for implants. . . If I remember right, about 23% of augmentation patients experience problems. It's been my observation that women, who successfully tolerate their implants over an extended time, lead extradordinarily healthy lives. They eat exceptionally healthy - avoiding sugar and refined breads, exercise regularly, avoid alcohol and smoking, are able to minimize stress and keep regular sleep hours. Even then, sooner or later their body finally gives up. I like to tell about the Hush Puppy high heels I used to wear before getting sick. They were in very good condition, and even though I couldn't wear high heels, I kept them in the closet. After having my implants out, and feeling better, I decided to wear them out to dinner. I put them on, took one step on a tile floor, and couldn't lift my foot without taking my foot out of the shoe. The silicone soles had degraded - sitting on my closet shelf! Even breast implants have a five year SHELF-LIFE! Makes me wonder why? Have you considered getting a lift? . . . A good doctor can do a great job! It would have saved me years of illness and thousands of dollars! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Leigh, Do you realize that implantinfo.com is a commercial? It's sole goal is to talk women into getting implants and to minimize their problems. If those of us who have had bad experiences with implants dare to go there, remove our posts, they hack into our computers, and, in my case, even managed to get my provider to cancel my service. You're a sheep among wolves there. I'm not kidding! The fact is, there are no safe breast implants at this time. Tuberous breasts are not a physical deformity - they're just another way God expresses individuality. They have nothing to do with how anybody but the most shallow people feels about you! Maybe you need to think of yourself more kindly! If you chose to get breast implants, I wish you luck! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
From personal experience with implantinfo.com, I totally agree with Rogene. I regularly posted there when I had my implants, and received advice and comments from the women, along with several responses, at least 20 to 30 per question. When I decided to explant, you know how many responses of sympathy I received? Four! And NOT ONE from the creator of the site, who claims to be sympathetic to women on the site. And it is not like she was busy or anything. She responded to at least 3 or 4 posts after mine, so I know she read my post. I completely lost respect for that site after that. Explanation is a threat to them, and not an option. You can't even post the word "explantation" on the site. It is banned from the site, so if you type the word, you have to space it for it to show up, or it won't let you post. I wouldn't recommend this site if you are considering explantation. P.S-Two more days until explantation for me!!! Guest guest
I agree with J and the others on this one. I wish I had done the research 3 yrs ago when I decided to get implants. I went to the implant info.com site and there was nothing negative at all. I didn’t search any further. I went out, got them and only a couple months later I was pretty much disabled. I am the only one out of 5 of my friends that got them and got sick right away. I don’t know if they will ever get sick. At the very least getting these things out will give me peace of mind that I am ME again and I am back in control of my health. Tuberous breast can be fixed without implants. Whatever decision you make, the best of luck to you.. at least you know that if you experience any of the symptoms mentioned here you may have a heads up on what’s going on.. I did not, I suffered through three years of symptoms before I finally faced the facts and cold and hard as they are. Good luck to you. Dawn Re: Silicone Implants? LEIGH, I think your decision is yours. I just wanted to share that you must be openminded to discuss your issue on a site where most members have had negative experiences with implants. When I got my saline implants, I didn't want to hear anyone say anything negative about them. I just thought they were on the market, and had been approved by the government, so they must be ok, right? I can tell that you are doing your research before making a decision. I respect that. I might suggest that you consider a 2nd opinion from a plastic surgeon other than the one who is suggesting implants. It might give you another perspective to consider. I know that Dr. Melmed in Dallas is well-spoken of on this site, and I've scheduled my explant with him on 3/30. I've also read about Dr. Feng in Ohio, who may be using fat tissue to rebuild breasts. That's what I believe I've read. Just be encouraged that you are searching all possibilities, and I respect that. I hope your decision is right for you. Saline implants have debilitated my health, and I can't wait to be rid of them. I hope you never experience what I have experienced, and I guess that's my bottom line. I wouldn't wish these side effects on anyone. Thank you for your sharing, and I can tell you will be making an informed decision. Guest guest
Most women do not want to believe that implants can do this. especially when they have their heart set on implants. I feel sorry for the girls today with all the pressure to be perfect. I know that when i got implants there was not so much pressure to be skinny with big boobs. I am lucky I have always been thin naturally, but never had much of a chest. Today I am a B cup and do not know where the tissue came from. It is a mystery because I did not gain any weight and I was always so flat before. Anyhow I am not complaining about that. I also have been walking everyday today I went again and did a 6 mile walk and I have to tell you that when I get back I am tired but I feel so good after I walked. I took a nap and woke up renewed. I really recomend walking to everyone who can get up the energy. It has made me feel so good. I wear extra clothes to make me sweat then I get home and take a good shower and use a brush to scrub my skin off and exfoliate. My skin is glowing. I use an apricot scrub from swiss formula. Guest guest
Are you serious you can't even type the word explant? What is this site called again? How horrible. That is so sad that girls are getting manipulate like this. My daughter is almost 17 and she is very smart she know that implants are bad news. Of course she is lucky too, she has a good size breasts and would never mess with nature. Not after all I have been throuhg. Implants are not popular around here either. The girls are pretty conservative. Annie --- Cristina Chavez <cristinawoh@...> wrote: > From personal experience with implantinfo.com, I > totally agree with Rogene.
