17 days and I " ll be on the surgery table. I am really at peace

about this. I was excited to find out that a lady my husband knows

and respects had had an explant some time ago due to HEALTH ISSUES.

I thought that fact might soften his resistance to my decision. He

was reading a magazine when I told him. He just said, " really? " and

kept reading the magazine. I had expectations that he would

say, " wow! if she had health problems, maybe you ARE having health

problems. " yeh, right....so, I'm back to sharing with women who

understand, and sharing with God, and sharing with a few close

friends who understand. I'm ready for the explant...bring it

on....Jackie

Jackie,

Alot of the times my husband was the same way yours is responding,

my hubby didn't really know how to help me & he was confused etc &

he just really didn't understand what I was going thru, he also

didn't want to say, " see I told you so " because he begged me NOT to

get implants, but being my stubborn self I did anyway & then for me

to get sick 2wks after getting them he really was at a lost. Anyway

sorry to ramble on your almost there! I pray God gives you the

strength you need to make it to that day!

Hugs

Thanks for sharing about your husband's response. That helps me to

know that it may just be how some men respond to a stressful

situation. I'm certain my husband loves me, but sometimes I just

have expectations that are not met. I spoke to my nurse friend last

night who is going with me. She had encouraging words, and I'm

still certain of God's will for me. I'm ready....J

Jackie,

I feel so stongly that God is holding your hand and

leading you though. You're going to do fine! You're in

His hands! . . .

Your hubby is going to do fine too - but probably only

when it's over!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Jackie, I feel sooo much like you are feeling, though I do have to admit, my fiancee has been very supportive. However, he is human, and there are times when he has a hard time understanding why I am exhausted by 6:00 pm, and why I go to bed so early, and why I keep getting these low grade fevers, then wake up gasping with night sweats almost every night. He is sympathetic when he feels my right breast, as it is so hard and distorted now, but he also begged me not to get the implants as well, so I tend to feel guilty for getting them. If I had just listened to him and my family, I wouldn't be in the situation I am in now. The thing that gets me through this is that I tell myself that I am going through this for a reason, and will be stronger because of this. Though the risks are given to us, we never think they will happen to us. I am just grateful I am removing mine, and hopefully will start to feel better soon.

We are here for you! :)cnjcramer <cnjcramer@...> wrote:

It is sad when our family does not stand by us. My

husband was very unsupportive of my situation for many

years we have stayed together only because of the kids

and finances. We had seperate bedroom the last 5 years

but, we are trying to work on our marriage now that I

have the implants out and am improving. I think he

feels better about things now that he knows it was the

implants. For along time I had no idea it was my

implants. Ihad them so long I just assumed it was

something else. It took years of being sick before I

put things together. I feel stupid because of that.

I also have much guilt because of my son and what this

has done to him.

take care dear

Annie, I also had mine for 19 years and did not put two and two together partly because I kept asking doctor after doctor if the implants could be causing my problems and they always adamantly said "No". And as you know I am dealing with terrible problems with my son also. I am hoping you can get to the bottom of his problems before he gets to be a teenager like my son. Anyway, all we can do is focus on the here and now do the very best we can both for ourselves and our sons. We can't waste valuable time and energy on guilt and the past. I know you know this. Love, Anita Re: Re: little support at home It is sad when our family does not stand by us.
