Guest guest
Hi Everybody, My son (who is 4 ½ ) just qualified for autism services through the Arlington public school system this month. Back at his evaluation, Nov. 27th, the Psychologist and I agreed that it would be best for him to go to kindergarten next year, (when he normally would). We had an ARD meeting Jan. 9th, where we went over his very first IEP. It was a " draft " IEP, so we were not given a written copy, but they had us sign their paper. When I finally received a written copy of the IEP on Jan. 15th, I realized that they had us sign page 7 of the 7 page IEP contract without letting us see the first 6 pages of the contract. It says that he will attend the same PPCD next year and that we agreed to this, when we didn't know anything about it. It says several other things that we did not agree to and even some things that are untrue. If they are doing what is best for him and they consider our imput to be important, as they claim, why are they behaving in such an underhanded way? What on earth do I need to do to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help,
