6 months ago I read the book and it seemed exactly right to me. Then

Wed. night I was at a meeting with and that spurred me to this

site.

When I read the book I practiced on a couple thoughts. But I seem to

be rather easy going and I don't seem to have stressful thoughts.

Maybe I am burying them - I don't know. There are things I am not at

all keen on if I thought of them, such as becoming poor or dying or

losing my health, but I rarely think of those things. Should I

practice on those?

What is a good way to start? Are there some old threads in this

message group I should especially read? Maybe I should reread the

book? Thanks and love, Doug

Welcome abord!

You don't have to look for anything to come up, it will... don't worry ;)

But if you feel like it you can try working on

" I need to find something to work on " is that true?

Have fun!

Thanks Brigitte. I guess I have been on a sort of " seminar " high that

I wanted to " work " on stuff. How do I react when I think that

thought? Somewhat excited.

But I will wait and see if anything comes up. When you started, did

you practice on thoughts even if they weren't beliefs or bothersome,

just to get in the habit? Doug

Actually I too am just starting. I met the Work last July. Since them, I've

played

with the work in quite a few different fashion.

1. I do inquire of course when something hurts, angers, disppoints me. Thou I

do have a happy life, i seem to have quite a few of there!

2. I use the work to be in an observer mode - i silence myself to better listen

to

myself and others.

3. I do the work on theories i choose to beleive in the past (kson theory of

development for example) or on relgious belief I was thought. How do I

presently react to what was thought to me then?

4. I also have great fun studying how all this Work works. Did a few posts on

these. I will point them out to you i you wish)

5. I listen to s tapes, read the email and sometimes try to answer some

email posted on this and other LWI groups (doing-the-work, parents to the

work gourps.)

6. I explore humanities great debates with this tool.

7. I'd also like to inquire about societies rather than just indivuals. As a

society, for example, the suicide rate of children is the highest, is that true?

etc. It makes reading the newspaper quite interesting.

8. i also have fun with " how far can this go " . I explored the issue of death by

inquiring on a past relationship I thought was dead (and with which I had no

problem) Just for the fun of it. It turned out an amazing experience!

9. i also live the work with my children. Seeing or projecting my dauther

attaching to a thought, naming it, giving her a tool for life.

I generally find that the work is lived more than done. I guess I " caught the

virus "

So I guess the answer to you question is Yeap! I do the work on just about

anything. And the " high " is not getting any lower ;)

Have fun !

Keep us posted!

Brigitte
