Guest guest
Hello, I have been reading a lot about globalization lately. It is a major thought and infrastructure held by most educators, and now many, many politicians. What is alarming is that the average citizen is completely ignorant of it, and when trying to inform them of the on goings, the informer is accused of being a conspiracy theorist! Why are they denying its existence? The reason why I am bringing this up on a food board is two fold. 1) We need to start talking about this folks! And 2) what is globalization going to do to our beliefs of local sustainable food. I would love to hear your opinions. I am guessing Will has some major opinions here, and I would love to hear everyone's take on this matter. In short, globalization will lead to one government, probably a very socialist controlling government. (Did you know that in Sweden parents can go to jail for giving their kids a time out, because the government of child welfare has deemed time outs as humiliating for children?) I believe every aspect of our lives, or more than likely, our childrens' lives will be controlled by what government has deemed as acceptable and what the mass should believe. Vaccines will not be optional, but forced (see New jerseys ongoing for vaccines). We will not have any personal ownership (see MN baby DNA scandal on goings) of ourselves, our thoughts, nor our values. Because everything will be globalized, it is touted that it will eliminate poverty, but it will actually make everyone poor in my opinion, and goods from all over the world will become the norm, more so than now, and this included food. Will our children even have the option of raw milk? Health care will be rationed like it is in Canada, and people who exceed their quota will be sent home to die (I personally can put you in contact with individuals this has happened to, who fortunately are still alive thanks to alternative medicine). Will alternative medicine even be legal for our children? I could go on and on, but the future of the movement we call traditional foods will change, possible not survive, possibly become illegal, and I would like to know how you perceive those changes. Or perhaps you think I am off the deep end. Tell me. I can take it. But tell me why you think that. What do you think? Carol f
