Guest guest
I live in CA. and am not so lucky to visit Dr. Kolb. I only have the chronic hair loss issue. It has not stopped since explant on 3/03. I know to give it time after surgery. I will see an internist on the 28th of this Month. I have never had a problem with my thyroid and have been healthy up until the implants. My only symptom is the hair loss. I am hoping that there is nothing wrong with my thyroid!! If in fact it is my thyroid causing hair loss is there any way it will go back to normal without medication? In time? Giving my body time to heal now that the implants are gone? I am just hoping that I am not rushing things and should just let my body heal on it's own. I just don't want to be bald (or close to it!). Marie RE: dawn: MD who wrote that book Dawn,Dr. Kolb is a lady . . . She also has breast implants. She has said that she considers her implants importantto understanding the women's issues. She has some symptoms, but manages to keep them undercontrol with her protocol.Hugs,Rogene> Opinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed health care professionals. Guest guest
Marie, It's impossible to tell what will happen regarding your hair. . . If it's related to your implants, it should start growing back within a few months. However, if it's thyroid related, you may need medication. For myself, as I got better, I reached a point where I did not need thyroid medication. . . My doctor is still amazed everytime I go in for a checkup that I no longer need it. My hair is naturally thick. . . However, it has thinned over the years. Whether related to implants, thyroid, or aging, I don't know. Wish I could tell you something more definite. Guest guest
I may be wrong but I would think that Dr.Kolb is not needed for your issues. It sounds like you need a thyroid expert, not a ps. Dr.Kolb is more of an implant expert from what I understand. Check with a thyroid specialist (endocrinolgosit) about your hair, and maybe a dermatologist. Have you had labs done for thyroid problems? I know I am border hyperthyroid, and that can cause hairloss too. Thyroid meds can cause that too so don't jump to a concusion medication will always cure you. If you still have hair loss after this long I am wondering if it is your implants or if it can be something else. Hormones maybe. See a good endo! Keep us posted, I will keep you in my thoughts Annie --- Marie <marie.johnson3@...> wrote: > I live in CA. and am not so lucky to visit Dr. Kolb. > I only have the chronic hair loss issue. Guest guest
Rogene, Thank you for your thoughts. Your such an amazing spirit to help other when you can. I am hoping that it is just my implants seeing as how it started right after surgery. I am hoping that it was just my body reacting to the implants and did not mess with my thyroid. Wishful thinking! Guest guest
Marie, I would do as you say and not rush into things, especially if you just get the testing done.. than you will atleast have something to go by. It really is so soon after explant. I already have it in my mind that I am not going to rush things after explant. I know it will take time.. I totally feel for you though, there just is no time when it comes to your hair…. You want it to stop NOW. Dawn Re: Rogene, Question please... I live in CA. and am not so lucky to visit Dr. Kolb.
