Guest guest
Wow, his price is VERY reasonable, it usually costs about $7000 for that or more. How many en bloc procedures has he done? Many say they do it, but most who say they do it do not. Have him describe his en bloc procedure. See if it matches the description on our website: www.siliconesurvivors.net If two doctors say it is medically necessary and describe why it is, often ins. will pay. It has to be for Baker 3 or 4 contracture, suspected or documented rupture, or pain. I am unsure of any other symptom, but others may have more experience with this. But you usually have to have TWO doctors who write letters saying: It is a medical necessity to remove these implants because............ and fill in the above symptoms where they fit. Guest guest
Cristina, Congratulations! . . . You've made a decision most of us have found tough . . . but one of the best decisions we've made! As high as your surgeon may sound, he is actually giving you a very good price. My removal and lift was $12,000 over eleven years ago. At that time, very few plastic surgeons would remove them. If you're happy with him after your surgery, you might ask him if he'd like to be on our list of recommended surgeons. We can always use compassionate surgeons who will removed implants right . . . and not demand an arm or leg in return! Detoxing is a excellent idea. Some women do fine without detoxing . . . but for some, it delays healing. Living in the chemical world we all live in, we could all benefit from detoxing, with or without implants. You'll know more after you get your implants out. Try some of the detox programs that appeal to you. If you experience a herxing reaction, then feel better following the program, chances are you should keep going. It appears that most women who've had implants also have a problem with systemic yeast/fungus/Candida. That's an excellent place to start. . . In fact, you could start that even before getting your implants removed. Hugs and prayers, Rogene --- cristinawoh <cristinawoh@...> wrote: > > Hi. I am new here and this is my second post. Guest guest
- HI. It sounds like you have this pretty well figured out! If you have a sense of peace about it, I always think that is a good indication that you are going in the right direction. It sounds like your surgeon will do a good job for you and do it right! Yes, I would advise detoxing after explant. There are many many ways to go about that. Even a simple thing like drinking tons of pure water is very detoxing to the body. Sweating--through exercise or sauna is detoxifying as is taking baths using a variety of products such as epsom salts, celtic sea salt, baking soda, various forms of clays (such as pascalite or bentonite) or using commercial preparations that you can buy over the internet. Detoxification can also take place through cleansing of the liver, colon, and kidneys. Ways to do this can be from herbal preparations, or fasting or doing specific liver cleanses using olive oil and grapefruit--The Hulda LIver cleanse. Juicing encourages detoxification. Actually there are just so many ways to encourage your body to let go of its toxins and to rebuild your immune system. Getting the implants out is the most important. While they are still in, your body's immune system is overwhelmed. REad through the archives and the files on this site and you will see alot of information regarding the types of detoxes we have used, the products we have used, etc. I will be thinking of you and keeping you in prayer on the 17th. I will just remember it is St.'s day! God bless Hugs kathy -- In , " cristinawoh " <cristinawoh@y...> wrote: > > Hi. I am new here and this is my second post. Guest guest
Thanks ladies for your advice and encouragement! I am much more at peace than I thought I would be. I am preparing myself for crying later perhaps, but right now I feel better just planning and knowing that soon I will feel better. I will ask how many explants he has done. He has told me the En Bloc is the only way he removes implants, and he seemed to know exactly what I was talking about, and described the procedure before I could. I am also glad to know that his price isn't unreasonable. I had no idea that explants with a full mastopexy costed so much! He has always been very good to me, and I feel I am in capable hands. Now just waiting until St. Patty's day! ). Thanks again!
Guest guest
Hey I just explanted salines last week 3/2 with Dr. Kolb in atlanta. She got my insurance to pay 80% within three days of meeting with her and did a great job. I also received internal lift which my insurance did not cover but I look and feel excellent except for mild soreness where the drains were until yesterday. she also removed capsule and gave me an excellent detox program. She started me on diflucan prior to surgery to cover any yeast problems (I had shortness of breath, dry eyes, and some brain fog). My original surgery was for 3/21 but she had a cancellation so I got in earlier and I'm glad I did. Good luck! Pam > > Hi. I am new here and this is my second post. Guest guest
Congradulations Pam! It's good to hear you are feeling good already! What symptoms were you having prior to explant? Guest guest
Cristina, Wouldn't it be nice if the plastic surgeons gave us a maintenance/removal estimate along with that first set of implants? You are getting an excellent price! I'm betting you'll be happy with the results! . . . If I had gone with a lift originally (had the doctor told me about them), I could have saved myself years of ill health and money! Explant surgery is seldom as painful as implant surgery - when everything is stretched to accomodate the implants. It will take a little time for the scars to fade to a fine line . . . and things to settle to your new " normal " . . . but I'm sure you'll like it. Just wear a snug, but comfortable, sports bra 24/7 until healing is well under way. . . That way the internal scars will work for you! Guest guest
Rogene, I agree! . Once again, I wish that I had known all this would happen before. I am now dreaming of my "old" breasts, which were a 34B, and really not all that bad! It is amazing how you don't appreciate what you have until it is gone. Ironically, whenever I have made a decision that is not right for me, I have a physical scar from it, whether it is getting injured while ditching school when I was 14, to riding a motorcycle when I wasn't supposed to and burning my leg, to now! My scars are a reminder of my experiences and decisions, and I think these ones I will have now will also remind me, but in a good way. Fortunately, I do heal well from scars, and should be fine. I love this site! Thanks to all for your infinite wisdom! Guest guest
Hi Rogene Dr. Kolb started me on diflucan a week or so before surgery (I saw her, she gave me the rx, two days later had approval from my insurance, and four days later she was taking them out-very fast process-I was lucky) and also supplements of Sam-E, milk thistle, inisotol, monolaurin, transfer factor plus, and alpha lipoic acid. She said there are more things I could take but since I had saline, and not 'severe' complications that I could skip the clay baths, etc at first. My symptoms were: hypothyroid , six months after implanting mixed connective tissue disease, dx about 8 years after implanting sjogrens syndrome (dry eyes only, not dry mouth) stabbing, burning pains down right ribcage, enough to cause my docs to take out my gallbladder!! exhaustion foggy thinking, bad memory painful breasts I had thin capsules, saline 330s under muscle no ruptures. She sent capsules to be analyzed and I was insurgery for six hours. She did internal lift and I had drains in five days. I was so glad to get the drains out on monday!! SOO GLAD! They were stitched in. I returned to St. Louis two days after surgery and found a great surgeon at Missouri Baptist hospital to take out my drains and stitches. Her name is Dr. Mischnick, and she agreed it was an excellent idea to have the capsules removed and said that Dr. Kolb (whom she did not know) was an excellent surgeon based on how well I healed up and she could tell that Dr. K did a great job on me. If anyone has any questions you can feel free to email. Pam > Congradulations Pam! It's good to hear you are feeling > good already! Guest guest
Hi la, I had silicone gel implants . . . the ones with the very thin shells. I developed multiple chemical sensitivity in months, and gradually went downhill until I made the connection and got them out 16 years later. The gel implants leaked from day one as oil seeped out of the semi-permable shell. One implant was yellow on removal, the other looked like new. By the time I had them out, I was a basket case! As long as I maintain a healthy lifestyle, I do fine. If I go off track in any single area . .. diet, sleep, stress, exercise, anger, etc., I have a setback. I suspect this the best I can expect. But it's wonderful to understand my body and know how to stay well! At one time, I was so sick, and had no idea why! Hugs, Rogene

Guest guest
la, I had gel implants for 16 years. It's almost 12 years since they were removed. I spent two years working on detoxing before I felt well enough to go back to work. At that time, I was figuring out everything by myself! It shouldn't take that long with all the information we have now! I just kept working on detoxing and gradually felt better. I tried so many things, I'm not certain about which were most beneficial. Liver flush was one biggie, getting Candida under control with probiotics and by eliminating sugar was another biggie. More recently, taking Magnesium and working on keeping my body from being too acid is helping with the burning feet I had. I don't know that my feet were burning as a result of implants . . . but I suspect that medications I took because of the implants lead to a deficiency in Magnesium. Far infrared therapy and massage therapy are important to me too! . . . so is manageing diet, sleep, anger and stress! I used to think that, since I didn't need much sleep, I could do without it. WRONG!!! . . . I used to think I could eat whatever, work like a dog when I felt good, and take on whatever came along. . . ALL WRONG! I've found that putting my life in God's hands and counting on Him to lead me to who and what I need is the most important part of healing! Guest guest
la, I had silicone gel implants in silicone shells. . . The saline implants have silicone shells, plus, they used to make a double and tripple lumen implant that had both saline and gel in multiple shells. I did the Epsom salt flush that calls for 4 Tablespoons of Espom salts in 3 Cups of water . . . Drinking 6 ounces at 6 and 8 p.m. followed by 1/2 cup high quality olive oil with the juice of 1 large grapefruit . . . Read the flush information on curezone.com for complete instructions. It's very easy. . . It requires that you spend most of one day close to the bathroom. . . Otherwise, it's a breeze. If you'll do a clear liquid fast for three days before the flush, you'll be able to identify all the stones as they pass. You'll be amazed! Guest guest
Is this the same Dr. that is going to reimplant Cheryl even though she is sick? I bet she will talk Cheryl out of it. It sounds like this is a good Dr. that knows what she is doing and knows the truth about implants. That is amazing that you got insurance to pay for it. Mine would not touch it. I had gels too!I am happy that your explant went so well. Feel better Anniemageemay65 <pamgje@...> wrote: HeyI just explanted salines last week 3/2 with Dr. My original surgery was for 3/21 but she had a cancellation so I got in earlier and I'm glad I did.Good luck! Pam> > Hi. I am new here and this is my second post. Guest guest
That sounds so good . I am happy for you that you found a good Dr. Is he a list Dr. or one you just found on your own? I found mine from another plastic surgery site, and he was great, he did some other work on me too and I am very happy with my outcome. Guest guest
Well put post kathy thank you for your wisdom. I guess this should be the last post I respond to. I wanted to catch up and all but now I need to get ready for church and things. I had a bad nights sleep so I hope I feel ok later on. Anniemikat828 <mikat828@...> wrote: -HI. God blessHugskathy-- In , "cristinawoh" <cristinawoh@y...> wrote:> > Hi. I am new here and this is my second post.
