I have to confess.. has picked up a few of these words too.... Once,

when he was still in speech therapy, about 2nd grade... we got called in...cause

he called someone a " b**** " ....but they all wanted to tell me how

wonderfully CLEAR he pronounced the word! hahaa!!

Its funny, because he knows they're bad words...and he tries to use them

behind my back...so at least he understands THAT!

My Katy (13) loves to watch movies and has watched " Cheaper by the Dozen "

several times. A couple of weeks ago, my son told me that Katy had called him a

bad name - " Fat A__ " , in fact he said that he had sneezed and Katy replied with

" Bless you, Fat A__ " - well, I confronted Katy and ask her what she had said to

her brother (she was actually watching 'Cheaper by the Dozen' at the time too)

and she looked kind of puzzled but repeated what she had said, " Bless you Fed

Ex " - She had not said " Fat A__ " but in fact had said " Fed Ex " which with her

not quite clear pronunciation of " Fed Ex " could be mistaken for " Fat A__ " . I

thought it was pretty funny and have worked on her correct pronunciation of " Fed

Ex " . I also told her teacher at school, just in case it came up.

I also have a similar story! likes to pretend he's different

characters. He will also assign his friends and family different character

names. One day, he told his brother he was going to be Freddie Fish and Tyler

was " Loser " . Well, I told him never to use that word again and asked him where

he had heard it. He told me Freddie Fish. Just as I was about to take the game

away from him thinking it inappropriate, Tyler told me was saying

" Luther " , one of the fish in the game! Needless to say, still has the

Freddie Fish game and I apologized for the misunderstanding.

What a cute story. I have to share this even though it has to do with

speech, it has nothing to do with Mds. My older daughter has a step son

who lives in Alabama with his mom and has a very definite southern accent.

He is 4 and is spending part of the summer with my daughter and her husband

for the first time. To make a long story short, in the middle of a

conversation with my daughter, her step son said liar. She got upset with

him and told him he shouldn't call her a liar. The next day he said the

same thing when I was visiting. I thought he said liar also. But when he

said it again, He was really saying where with his little southern accent

and missing front teeth. Needless to say, my daughter was quite embarrassed

when she had to explain to her husband that she had told he son that he

should not say " where " to her again. LOL
