Guest guest
Hi, You all call can me Lo, I just joined this group because I have had saline implants for 2 years now and have since developed many health problems, and was hoping some of you could offer me insight or support of some sort. I saw Kacey Long on MTV talk about her problems when it clicked in that my implants could be causing all of this. Then I searched her online and saw her on breastimplantinfo.org and then contacted her and Beth L. with some questions, who were both very helpful and nice to me. Initially my implants felt fine, but I would randomly get sharp pains in them. My doctor told me to exercize them more and maybe they were still settling. Soon after, I started getting pains down the tendons in my arm and I believed I had carpal tunnel from using the computer a lot. However, I was negative for carpal tunnel, and then I started noticing more arthritis type symptoms in my wrist and fingers. All tests I took came out negative so I tried to lay off the computer and it didn't seem to be helping. Just in the past couple months I have had joint and muscle pain spread everywhere and I'm experiencing muscle twitches, some headahces and tiredness and a weird strong taste in my mouth. When I read your site I was shocked to see how so many women had similar symptoms. I'm still in college so I decided I want them out when school is not in session for summer, which is 2 months from now. I'm seeing the plastic surgeon to scedule for explantation for the beginning of May next week, and I just hope I don't feel worse in the meantime. I was wondering for all of you women who have gotten explanted with saline implants, How much better did you all feel after, and which symptoms went away? Also how long did it take you to notice the symptoms go away and which remained? Lastly, if anyone has an advice for questions I could ask my doctors- I've already been tested for rheumatory arthritis and had a normal bone scan and everything. I plan on asking about taking out my scar tissue capsules when I have a meeting with my doctor when I go home next week but is there anything else I should specify? If anyone can get back to me with information about how they recovered or didn't recover after, or any suggestions please please please get back to me. Thank you, Lo
Guest guest
Hi and welcome to our group. I think you are making a very good move in getting the implants out. Since you haven't had them in very long you should bounce back pretty quickly I would think. It really varies. Many women notice immediate improvement and others notice more gradual improvement. I had immediate improvement in some of my symptoms and others--such as fatigue and muscle twitching- -seem to come and go in cycles. I had salines in for eleven years and had fibromyalgia even before I got the implants. I started developing all other kinds of symptoms about 4 years ago and that is when I knew something was really wrong. I found this site and got an explant within a month. I was so sick and it really saved me! Now I am just dealing with some fibromyalgia symptoms, and feel I am slowly making progress even with those. The overwhelming majority of women who get explants get much better. Many women find that detoxifying and supporting the body's immune system after explant help them to get better even more quickly. Guest guest
Welcome! You are w/out a doubt making the right choice. I had salines in for 2wks when I started having weird unexplainable symptoms that I never had before implants, everyday it was a new symptom starting. I had them in a total of 6 months when I explanted & i felt great instantly so I didn't do any detoxing or anything and some of my symptoms came back & with a few other symptoms so I hit the detoxing, lots of fresh water, supplements etc & its been 7 months since explant & I finally feel almpost back to my 100% healthy self. Guest guest
Hi Lo, You're getting your implants out reasonably early . . .. that should help you recover quickly, but then again, that's no guarantee. Try to get yourself in tip-top condition while you're waiting. Eat healthy, sleep well, avoid chemicals, drink plenty pure water, and take a probiotic like acidopholis (Garden of Life's Fungal Defense - one bottle, then Primal Defense for several months minimum would be best, if you can afford them) One quick fix is eating raw, crushed garlic . . up to 12 cloves a day. But start with one at a time! . . . Garlic is a fantastic natural anti-fungal, antibiotic and antioxident. You should feel better within 24 hours. But, as long as you still have implants, you'll just be treading water. The most important thing to request from your doctor is that your implants be removed " en bloc " . . . That means to remove the capsules with the implant still inside. The doctor may drain the implant first. But he WILL NOT cut open the capsule and remove the implant first, before removing the implant. This risks spilling contaminated fluid into your chest cavity. A good doctor will also use drains to get rid of any fluid accumulations in your chest. This can prevent another surgery, so the nusance is worth it! You're making a good decision to get your implants out! They're a high maintenance item, to say the least! and not all that natural looking, or feeling at that! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Yes, your problems sound exactly like women who are early responders to the foreign object of implants.
