Guest guest
Lea, I was doing really well with my multiple chemical sensitivity symptoms until we moved into our new house. The paint and carpet fumes put me into a prolonged flare until I finally thought through the situation and started airing our house every evening. What a difference that made!!! If you can find a way to clean the air without the AC, you may find it advisable. . . One thing you don't want to do is to fill the ducts with stuff that will be coming out forever! . . . I think a portable unit would work well . . . you could move it from room to room as needed. Whether or not you need a humidifier would depend on the humidity where you live. Where I live, we run a dehumidifier constantly! Once I used the ShopVac to clean the fireplace. . When I finished, I turned around to a room full of ash particles in the air. I turned on the portable air filtering unit and I could literally see the ashes being drawn into the unit! We're in a hotel tonight that smelled of the room deoderizer they use . . . so we brought our unit in. We were gone for a few hours, but when we came back, the smell was gone! . . . The brand we have is a Hunter (like the ceiling fans). . It cost less than $300 and included another smaller unit that doesn't have the ozone feature. I use that one when I'm doing stained glass work. I think we got ours at Home Depot or Loew's. Hope you're feeling better! Guest guest
Dearest Rogene: You are so sweet to take the time to give me all this information. We have a new computer and it has caused major problems, is talking to a computer expert. We are trying to stop all the garbage that we receive every day...plus viruses. We have to go to home depot today that will give us a chance to look at the unit that you suggest. The air conditioner has been turned off until spring because we are not to use it in the winter. My doctor told me to put a pan of water on the register for more humidity, we have no humidifier at the moment. I would love to learn how to do stained glass, we had stained glass doors in our other home and I loved it. Do you use your own home to do this? Rogene, I'm a bit frightened because my doctor phoned me yesterday. He said that I have protein and white blood cells in my urine. I went last night and it was marked stat and high priority, this has frightened me because I have MGUS and a mild kidney disease with a cystic lesion on one of my kidneys. What do you think is going on? Much love....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```` Lea - air filter > > Lea, > > I was doing really well with my multiple chemical > sensitivity symptoms until we moved into our new > house. > > The paint and carpet fumes put me into a prolonged > flare until I finally thought through the situation > and started airing our house every evening. Guest guest
Not that I know of. I don't know that it would make a lot of difference which brand was used . . . But I wouldn't go for the cheapest available. The filter should be replacable or cleanable. Guest guest
Hi Lea, We have a new computer too . . . Wonderfully fast, but so fast that things happen before I want them too! It's going to take some time to get used to it! I've been involved in craft stuff since I was a small child! . . . Love it! . . . When we built our house, I planned for quite a number of stained glass panels in windows and cabinet doors, .. . . I still have eight more to go . . . designs are ready, but I'm off onto pottery now. I got sidetracked on a project for my brother and another for my son, and never got back to my own work. Perhaps in the summer, when school is out, I'll do the glass projects! I'm getting new pottery wheel next week, so I'll be doing more work at home. . . I have a wonderful area at home to work in. As to what your doctor said, I really don't know what the readings mean. You might compare your tests over the past years and see which direction you are heading. I seems as though some things are improving. Hopefully this is a temporary thing as your body goes through healing phases. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
