Guest guest
1) My impression is there are about 3-4 enteric coated fish oils on the market I have seen so far. They are very different in experience. FISOL is wholesale off my site but pretty cheap retail any way and is small for fish oil capsules. The larger and more expensive one is Metagenics and is sold by some pharmacists and health care professionals. The have good quality but tough price and I do not carry. I get mine at 877 363 7474. These are larger horse pills. 2) If you taste fish oil after using an enteric, I would think it means you put so much into the blood you are tasting from the inside. My own experience is this makes it hard to take any for a season. So I would try not to binge as I stupidly did once. This is a turn off experience. 3) We did what some have called the first mercury publication on commercial fish oils. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/408125_print I was stunned that all the reasonable brands had no mercury. I will not waste time with my hunches on why. This does NOT mean every fish oil form is safe. And I think some cheap forms might use fish oil from tropical and sub tropical waters and then perhaps a risk for ciguatera toxins in minute or unknown density in the oils. http://www.chronicneurotoxins.com/learnmore/ciguatera.cfm Peace, Schaller, MD www.HopeAcademic.com [] Re: CSM Dosing /Essential Fatty Acids Also - WalMart sells enteric coated fish oil (purified of toxins) that is just a little bit more than their normal fish oil caps. I'm giving these a try in the hopes that they break down a bit lower in the intestines than the CSM. Hopefully they make it past it... > > , For some reason I understood your > explanation, although I guess you are all saying > same thing. Guest guest
, Are you aware of any fish oil or cod liver oil supplement in vegetarian capsules? I am allergic to gelatin and like the convenience of capsules, but could not find any vegetarian capsuled fish oil!? I love all the books you wrote about mold and artemisinin, at this moment, I am reading your fourth book about clinical treatment for babesia. All your books are very informative, thorough, and very practical. Great work. Thanks! Mei
Guest guest
Dr Schaller, the Fisol information states: " Because Fisol is enteric-coated and better absorbed by the body, its required dosage is less than taking non-coating fish oil. " Do you know how one can determine a Fisol dose as compared to a regular fish oil dose? Thanks,
Guest guest
Are you aware of any fish oil or cod liver oil supplement in vegetarian capsules? Mei, you might want to look for Kosher fish oil capsules. They are likely vegetarian. I don't know about the mercury issue though. -
