Members of the PTA, and now even former employees of Redan High School are demanding the district do something. Standing in solidarity, with photos to back them up, parents of students at Redan High School took turns complaining about mold at a meeting on Monday evening. Even current and former school employees are getting in on the cause. The school district admitted there's a problem in a letter it sent home with students. " Evidence of mold was found in the air condition and heating unit … at Redan High School, " the letter said. " And the areas infected included several classrooms. " New HVAC units and a new roof are on the district's wish list of capital improvements, but so are a lot of other things. One former student and coach says don't hold your breath. The public comments show the district's mold problem may be more widespread. At least two parents from Chamblee High School complained about the exact same thing. The school district says the health department already did one air quality test that showed there's nothing harmful to students. It is awaiting results from a second test done by an independent company.
