Guest guest
I saw a very interesting story on the history channel the other night. It was about what humans are doing genetically in the production of foods and other stuff. It was unbelievable the information that was on the show. Two things stick in my mind from the show. The first is that they took a slice of the DNA from a certain stingray that produces antifreeze (which I did not know) and cross bred that with tomatoes. This is why the tomato crops are now not affected by frost. The scientists even admitted that the genetic stuff they are doing with the food supply work but they have no idea on the long term affects on us humans who consume it. The saddest part is almost all fruit and vegetables we eat, organic or not, have been genetically manipulated. Even if you are to buy seeds and plant your own garden, the seeds are coming from genetically manipulated plants. The other was that a while back they came up with a genetically manipulated kind of corn. I don't remember the supposed positive changes it was suppose to make but the FDA banned this corn from being sold for human consumption. It was used to feed the animals instead. (why that was allowed or any different I don't know) Well they found large amounts of this type corn in the corn in the human supply so billions of dollars of corn was ordered to be destroyed. But they say still to this day from time to time they still find this corn in what is meant for human consumption. If that is not enough to freak you out and get you wondering and thinking I don't know what will. I realize there has been some good from messing around with DNA but I have to think when we muck around and start trying to play god the results can often be deadly. The fact that they are doing all of this and have no idea of the long term effects scares the hell out of me. This just makes us Ginnie pigs for the future. On top of that when and where does it end? What do we not know about that is being done like that. So know anytime I hear someone say something like " quit being so paranoid about mold, it has been here since the beginning of time and is necessary " My first thought and comment is that that is true but because of behavior like this it is not the same mold that has been here forever and it should be obvious that the toxins and so forth have done allot of adapting and changing in response to the goofing around we have done.
