Guest guest
I would love to...it's just that I can't plan that far ahead of time. I'll let you know something when the time get closer. I'm glad that you're doing so well. Marcie Jan wrote: I will be in Lubbock on June 16 and 17 if anyone wants to get together for dinner or something. I will be staying at the Radisson-formerly the Clarion and Sheraton-on Avenue Q. I could not get a room where I wanted to stay when I rescheduled due to an upcoming PET scan, but this one is a bargain with a $59. medical rate. I would add that I am doing well on the chemo. No nausea. I don't care that my hair is gone. I don't even bother to wear a wig or hat except in church. My only complaint is that I can no longer tolerate coffee. Gee, I miss my latte. . . . . Guest guest
Jan, is the coffeee upsetting your stomach? If so, it's going to be the acid, I think, more than likely. Guest guest
Hi Jan, I'm glad that you are tolerating chemo as you can in this situation. DH and I will be in Lubbock the following week on the 23rd.... wish we could have gotten together. We'll only be going for a day trip, so if you can, go to 50 Yard Line for us and eat some of those yummy muffins! LOL! Take care and I hope you have a safe trip! - > > I will be in Lubbock on June 16 and 17 if anyone wants to get together for dinner or something. Guest guest
No. The coffee tastes really bad to me. I get all of the bitterness and none of the aroma. They gave me some really expensive drugs to prevent the nausea that used to be a main feature of chemo. wrote: Jan, is the coffeee upsetting your stomach? Guest guest
It might be Zofran. One of the oncology nurses I used to work with said that Zofran, revolutionized how much chemo was able to be given because it is so effective. Whatever it is I am so glad that you are not having nausea. I would rather do just about anything than throw up. Guest guest
I was given Zofran. I am also taking Emend as a preventative for three days with each chemo. After the first chemo, I only take the Zofran if I actually have nausea. So far, I have not needed it. Kim in No Texas wrote: It might be Zofran. Guest guest
I have very recently been seeing Emend prescribed on patient charts. I haven’t been to any continuing education meetings on it. Very interesting! I noticed that is wasn’t being classified as an antiemetic (anti-nausea). I’ll have to check out their website some more. I am so thankful that someone has developed these types of drugs. Going through chemo is tough enough! Guest guest
Jan, I’m so disappointed I’ll miss you by a few weeks…I’ll be there May 22-23. Would love to reschedule to your timeframe, but my rx’s will run out before then and not sure they would want to call in more for me since it’s been a year. So glad you’re doing well on chemo. I think of you (and worry about you) often.
