Guest guest
I've just purchased an X5 on ebay, which came with an exercise (multi-gym) chart. Am I correct in thinking that I should only hold each pose for 7 seconds (no reps). I've searched the posts and found that some people (probably more advanced) use reps. TIA, Tim
Guest guest
I've always held the pose for the 7 to 10 seconds and then released it. I also do " reps " and by that I mean that I do a number of the same exercise, holding each for the allotted 7 to 10 seconds before releasing. - Fred > >Reply-To: bullworkerclub >To: bullworkerclub >Subject: Only 7 Seconds >Date: Thu, 30 Dec 2004 10:04:35 -0000 > > > > >I've just purchased an X5 on ebay, which came with an exercise >(multi-gym) chart. > >Am I correct in thinking that I should only hold each pose for 7 >seconds (no reps). > >I've searched the posts and found that some people (probably more >advanced) use reps. > >TIA, >Tim > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
The research supports the 7 second hold for building strength. Also, due to strength-joint angle issues, most would suggest that you do three holds at varying joint angles, say, beginning, middle and end. So, that would be three 7 seconds holds with say 15 sec rest between. I have seen no research that supports multiple holds at the same joint angle as being useful. One could enen postulate this leads to stagnation. - -- In bullworkerclub , " Fred DeRuvo " <modres@h...> wrote: > > I've always held the pose for the 7 to 10 seconds and then released it. Guest guest
this would depend on the amount of intensity or effort put into each contraction. For example, if you only used minimal effort and only slightly depressed the cylinders you could hold it all day with no results. if you put maximum effort into the contraction, attempting to move the powermeter further and further every day, then a 7 second contraction would be more than ample. However, if the amount of effort is less than maximum or less than 100%, you would need to hold the contraction for a longer period of time.
