WOW! I just read the summary and can't wait to watch it. Is it on DVD or out

at the theaters. I've never heard of it but sure hope lots of people will

see it.

Please don't mind me!!!! If I had seen the date I would have realized that

I had a few family members ask me if I had seen the movie a couple of

years ago. Mainly they wanted to know isn't there someplace I can go

to live with other people.

Angel!!,

I agree that it's a good movie. ne does an incredible job

portraying the body movements (and lack of) of the chemically

intolerant and highlighting the issues. My only objection is the

ending.

I agree about the ending of Safe and that's why I don't ask doubting

relatives to watch it. It seems to imply, although not blatantly, that

MCS is a psychological disease.

Well I found and ordered it from amazon for about 9.00. It figures hollywood

would end it that way. Kind of takes the reality out of it. I know Jenine has

had problems with her family believing her so I am sure things like that don't

help. I have to sympathize with all who have problems with family or friends not

believing or at the least understanding. It's kind of funny, I know a person who

has given me more than enough problems about this (No names needed) and now this

person is more parinoid than I am about it. Hmmm Funny how that works...

-bummer, I hate to hear that the ending is like that. figures, its a

wonder it even got out considering where this whole thing stood in

1995. maybe he would do safe 2 based on new research. it's time

something was done.let me know if you come across a e-mail address

for him.maybe he could just redo the ending or add revelant info. at

the end of the movie. I wonder what brought him to do it in the first

place?-- In , Tazin Round

Another movie, that was a comedy starring Bill Murray and Dreyfuss,

always struck me as one that might be indicative of one with MCS. It's

called " What About Bob? "

What About Bob? is a 1991 comedy movie directed by Oz which stars Bill

Murray and Dreyfuss. Murray plays Bob Wiley, a multiphobic obsessive

compulsive psychiatric patient who follows his successful and egotistical

psychiatrist Dr. Leo Marvin, played by Dreyfuss, on vacation. When the unstable

Bob befriends the other members of the Marvin clan, it slowly drives Leo

insane. Bill Murray improvised so many lines during the movie that accurate

scripts couldn't be written until after shooting the scenes.

This film is number 43 on Bravo's " 100 Funniest Movies " .

That is what it was presented as - he was tired of being alone, and he had

" a phobia " of leaving his apartment.

But if you watch the movie, Bob felt fine as long as he stayed in his

apartment (with his gold fish). When he went out, he got headaches, edgy, etc.

Buses, etc bothered him.

When his psychiatrist went on vacation to his home on an East Coast Island,

Bob followed him. And he felt great once he got there. The psychiatrist's

family fell in love with Bob, as did the people of the little town.

So, there was never any mention of environmental. But rent the movie, see

what you think. It's a funny movie. I read somewhere that this character was

based on a real person. Can't remember where I read that, or if it is true.

Well, that was kind of the conclusion of the movie. But he almost

immediately felt better being on the little island. I don't know that they

ever showed

him going back to the city. So was it psychological or was it

environmental? Rent it, if nothing else, it is very entertaining. The theme of

the movie

has nothing to do with environmental. But I wonder. Like I said, I think

this character was based on a real person.

Also, the psychiatrist's house in the movie would be my dream home. White

cape cod on the water.

Mandell, but this is not a fear its a necessity and you never know

when you will get knocked down. it can ruin a good day real quick.--

The last time I watched this movie, was when I was at just about my lowest

health point. I couldn't concentrate, could even multiply 3x3 in my head. My

loving GP kept trying to send me to a psychiatrist, but I could feel it was

physical. So yes, I think you are right about Bob portrayed as having

psychological problems in the movie. (which it is just a fictional comedy

movie).

But I had a lot of points in that movie that I could identify with at the

last time I watched it. Felt better at home, bus fumes bothered me, fresh sea

air made me feel better, some friends were staying away (but was never

lonely enough to carry a pet gold fish) ....and MY doctor was trying to send me

for psychiatric help. Who knows. It is a very funny movie.

experiences with mold now. I thought he might

have felt better when he got to country, since

his psychiatrist was there. Also if based on

real character, someone with anxiety disorder of

some sort may feel better in country due to the

more relaxed atmosphere. Anyway, if anyone has

not seen it, check it out. Very good.
