Off label treatment is extremely common. The drugs can typically only be

marketed by the drug companies for the use for which the trials were initially

done. However, many, many drugs are used for other conditions and you can read

the literature and find references to such (i.e., things like " your doctor may

prescribe this medicine for other conditions...).

From what I understand, the use of CSM for neurotoxins has been approved by the

FDA on the basis that it's not deemed to cause any unacceptable risk given how

long it's been around. Personally, I'm much more worried about the off label

use all the anti-depressants these other doctors were prescribing to me for the

nerve pain and immune modulation. Personally, I hate taking prescription drugs,

but CSM is one that I won't go without now. I would much prefer an alternative,

herbal based solution - I and am looking into one that based upon the results my

sister has had and will share that if it works for me also.
