Hi Bonny,That's fantastic! It's about time we had another drug to add to our arsonal. You are indeed correct about the off label use of metformin:Metformin may be safe in early pregnancyOctober 17, 2006—Preliminary

reports from a Canadian study suggest that taking the diabetes drug

metformin (Glucophage) in early pregnancy does not increase the risk of

fetal deformities. Metformin is often prescribed to treat infertility

in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), a common hormone

disorder that disrupts the reproductive cycle. Researchers conducted a

review of previous studies and found that patients with PCOS or

diabetes who were taking metformin had a lower percentage of fetal

malformations than those who were not taking the medication.

Researchers stress that the findings are preliminary and that further

studies are needed. (Reuters) Click here to read the full story.Quite a few of us have felt that subjectively our EN was connected to our hormonal cycles. I am going into menopause now and noticing less severe and less frequent EN bouts. It would sure be nice to not have to wait for menopause to go into permanent EN remission.Have any other members used metformin and noticed their EN go into remission?I'm going to make a permanent file of your post as this is too important to lose in the shuffle. Please keep us posted on your progress. Once you are in remission for a year, I hope you'll alert me to add you to our "cured members files". Love, idio. EN '68>> I have had EN for 21 years.
