Guest guest
Dear Darlene,On behalf of all our members, welcome to our Erythema Nodosum Group! Thanks for sending in your Questionnaire. I have added your information to our "Member Medical History" Files on the Group site and posted it below. You now have Full EN Group privileges. You are receiving Daily Digest EN Group emails, and you can also go to the Erythema Nodosum Group Site :http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erythema_nodosum_Group/ whenever you like by logging on with your Yahoo ID and secret password. You do not have to have the group emails delivered to be a member here. Many leg lumps look like EN, so your dr. may wish to do a biopsy to be absolutely sure that this is what you are dealing with. I must admit, however, that I was diagnosed without a biopsy by a dermy who was familiar with EN and my history [by then I'd had EN for 5 yrs. with remissions] was consistent with it. I think the dr. who says he saw this on nursing home patients is wrong and that his advice to get more mobile is possbily the worse thing for EN. Get lots of rest and elevate the legs as much as you can. You'll learn all about it from our friendly group. Welcome!Love,Idiopathic EN 1968********Darlene Enderby's Case History9/26/061. Your name and age: Darlene Enderby, 54 2. Your location: Clintonville, WI 3. Your email address: BondSr927@... 4. Your Yahoo ID: BondSr927 5. Describe your erythema nodosum/PG symptoms or, if you do not have EN or PG, please explain why you wish to join this group: I had 'no idea' what this was called but when I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia yesterday (9/25/06), I looked it up (through a search-engine) and the link for your group came up. When I pulled up the link and saw the picture of the legs, I 'had to' read the description! Those could be "my legs"! They have been like this for appx. 5 years & I've had them screened for cancer and the doctors (2 or 3) have looked at it and said that its 'nothing to worry about'. Other medical people have said that they've seen this on people in nursing homes, who aren't mobile...and that maybe I should start getting 'more' mobile. This confused me, because "I AM mobile"!! Anyway, I'm hoping that this group will be able to shed some light on my 'spots' (they aren't sores...really. Even the Rheumatologist (who I saw yesterday) didn't say anything about it, while examining me. But they are "very" red, hard, warm, lumpy spots that get bigger & smaller over the years. I have them on both shins. 6. List any other health conditions:Fibromyalgia & OsteoArthritis (both diagnosed on 9/25/06) 7. State what medications or treatments you take for EN, and their effectiveness: None...don't know of any! 8. When did you first get erythema nodosum or PG? Appx. 5 years ago....it just showed up! 9. How long have you had erythema nodosum or PG?Same answer as above. 10. Do you agree to treat all EN members with respect?YES!!!!! 11.Do you agree to post NO advertisements for any products or services? I agree! 12.
