Guest guest
well.. we're off on our newest adventure... evacuating a hurricane... The closest available motel room is in San , TX... a 10 hour drive! I think people are taking this storm seriously. We're going to Norman, OK. I'll try and get online soon. Guest guest
I drove to Birmingham ALabama to escape Opal in 1995 after riding out with a 6 week old - not fun - but I can say I was in the eye of a hurricane. An awesome experience that I NEVER want to do again! Travel mercies for you and yours. hugs, cindy lee > well.. we're off on our newest adventure... evacuating a hurricane... I hope Betsy is OK. As of 7 Am The interstate 65 is going to be one way all the way to Mobile. (hear that PW?) Where were you escaping Opal from? Tom was in Baytown texas when Alishia hit many years ago. He had a crazy Stepdad who wouldn't leave and tried to get out and go to work at Lowe's the morning it hit....LOL. said it was the weirdest thing. At the lowe's, The lumber was kindling from being smashed, but the lightweight foam insulation was right where it was left.... in Bama Web site- http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/
Guest guest
Mel, We lived in Pensacola Florida and took a direct hit from - just got that mess cleaned up and we took another direct hit from Opal. Hurricanes are AWFUL!! We drove home from Birmingham not knowing if we had anything to drive home to. Thankfully all was well with our home but many were devastated. hugs, cindy lee > > Lee... > I remember Opal well!
