Guest guest
I learned a little about this at Dr. Carbone's #2 Parent workshop. we are using the Kaufman Kit, so far it is working nicely. I like this much better then the drilled verbal imitation we had always done in the past with my son. This is a much more precise way of doing verbal imitation because there is no mistake when you are interpreting a word being said.... There was always a HUGE problem with being consistent with what we were currently accepting as an approximation...this I think is just really a neat way to do it and sooooo much more consistent. here's a site that has more info on the kit...and BTW, this kit was not developed with children on the Spectrum in mind so the photos on the front of the cards are not Autism friendly, just for kids with praxia in general... http://www.kidspeech.com/ksp.html Should be a great workshop!!!
