Guest guest
Hi , What living donor charges? Is it the revenue code 811 or 812 or is the Hospital billing the inpatient stay for the live donor to BCBS FL along with a bill for the recipient? If there is a separate bill, then they are absolutely correct, that bill should be written off and logged for Cost Reporting purposes. If it is for Revenue Code 811 or 812, they are incorrect. There are billing instructions that require you to put that Standard Acquisition Charge on the recipients bill. Hope this helps, Thanks, Bill From: TxFinancialCoordinators [mailto:TxFinancialCoordinators ] On Behalf Of Fornash, M. (BCBS FL donor billing) I am wondering how BCBS FL is processing your living donor charges for the transplant episode? They have started denying our living donor charges, saying that we need to bill the donor's insurance first. Now they want to go back and ask for refunds on all previous donors that they paid the transplant episode on. Any of you experiencing this?
