Guest guest
Is this spaced OK. What I was doing was Sun.- BFL Cardio Mon.- UBW Push Tue.- BFL Cardio Wed.- UBW Pull Thu. BFL Cardio Fri. BFL LBW Sat. Rest It seems my upper body gets some kind of workout at most every 5th day but the lower body every 7th day. Is this spaced OK? Guest guest
Yes - it's an " old school " split that gets results and hits more muscles at more angles. Also, cuz Matt P. is doing it (last I heard) & he knows what he's talking about. Jeff Is there a reason you are doing an UB split? Guest guest
Yep, this looks good! How do you feel doing this split? Do you feel like you are getting a good workout both UB and LB? Are you gaining strength? Those are the questions that determine whether a split is working for you or not. There's nothing wrong with only working LB once per week, lots of BBers do that exact thing. Jen B. > Is this spaced OK. Guest guest
I see a huge upperbody and pencil legs in his future. You know the type Spaghetti StringTank Top and Sweat/baggy pants (no matter what time of year), every gym has em, they are standard issue LOL. I am firm believer in hitting legs more than once every seven days. Soothsayer Bill (without the pencil legs) > > Is this spaced OK. Guest guest
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one, boy. I have seen numerous guys who only hit each body part once per week who have some pretty awesome physiques and nice symmetry. If you hit your legs hard enough once a week, I think you can avoid the Pencil Leg syndrome. That may not be true for every guy, I admit, but it also depends on what his goals are and where he's at right now. Guest guest
Can you say Juice? and I am not talking the kind that you buy at the grocery store. LOL 60% of your muscles reside in the lower body, I'm not doing the bodyfor life workouts right now. I hit everything 3 times a week. I think everyone is different, I respond best to lots of sets, heavy weights low reps 3-5 range. Guest guest
*poke* How could you even SUGGEST that I would associate with persons who would ingest such substances?? I am appalled!! *horrified look* I was repondering this question in the few minutes since I posted that last message and I think it has a ton to do with genetics. The guys I am thinking of who only work legs once a week are naturally bottom-heavy. As in, they already had a ton of muscle in their LBs before they started lifting. I have worked out with two of them on separate occasions and they both hit all the gold standards for LB: squats, deads, lunges. They both have really nice legs (not that I'm lookin' okay I am) with great definition. Mebbe just good genes, but they had to work like crazy to build UB definition. Kinda like girls. Only they don't look like girls by any means. Jen B. P.S. Trust me, I know that 60% of the muscles are in the LB... that's where ALL of mine are!! Wah, I want muskle-y arms. > Can you say Juice? and I am not talking the kind that you buy at the > grocery store. Guest guest
I share the same opinion as Bill - I don't think weight workouts for legs once a week will be enough. If you want a bigger upper body and a not so big lower body, then knock yourself out. However, keep in mind that the body will only accept so much imbalance, and at some point your upper body gains will come to a screeching halt. Been there, done that. Someone asked - " Is this a guy thing? " Yes, it is. The same reason men will pick out nice shirts, spend $$$ on a leather jacket, and then wear ill fitting pants and crappy shoes. As I write this, I am wearing a cashmere sweater, jeans and sneakers. Excuse me, I hear Jane Goodall nearby, I need to run over and thump my chest. Guest guest
OK supporters of good lower bodies: Wait a minute. I just realized - on my schedule (see previous post) I am training each muscle once a week. With the pull exercises, back, traps, biceps. With the push exercises, chest, shoulders, biceps. Lower body once a week. Abs a little more than that, depending on timing of workout and level of fatigue. Does this alter your opinion about toothpick legs?
