Guest guest
I'm Becky, ny's wife..and I can tell you that with all the meds he's on, all the PT he's been thru, all the doctors he's seen, from pain specialists, neurologists/surgeons, orthopedists/ surgeons, general practitioners NO ONE seems to know what is going on with him. One doctor diagnosed his with peripheral neuropathy and his doctor at the VA said " no way, you're too young " . And that bit about it being aging is bullcrap. I've been dealing with back pain since I was 15 and I am not on any of the meds he's on, nor am I in the kind of pain he is in (I wouldn't be having any at all if I wasn't in a wreck where my family's car was rear-ended by a drunk at high speeds). I think the main problem we are encountering is he is having to go thru the Workman's Comp. system being it was an on-the-job injury. If we had private insurance that was worth a damn, he would probably have already found someone to help him instead of pushing more pills at him. My bathroom cabinet is looking more and more like a pharmasy! I have watched this man deteriorate slowly over the last 2 years and it breaks my heart that I can't do anything for him to ease his pain, other than being patient and understanding and even at times that is in small supply. It is very trying on our marriage to say the least. I am just glad he is finally getting involved with groups like this so he can talk to others who are also suffering from chronic pain.
