Guest guest
Hi Kam, How old is your son? Are you getting in home support to heop care for your son? Hi Wanda - sorry I need to do a sig line - I will try to get one up and running soon. My son is 10 - and no we don't have in home support. is actually doing very well right now. We have him on Risperdal and a small dose of Clomipramine at night. The Risperdal has really helped with cooperation, getting rid of some of the OCD tendencies and the " voice " that he would hear. They did not diagnose him with bp however he may have a strong link for it or at least a genetic predisposition towards it. Am looking forward to hearing more about you and your family. I think we have a lot in common! Please tell me more about your family as well. I am married to my dh, Mike - my rock and always makes me laugh (everyone says he is one of the funniest people they know - he says its all in the timing) Anyway - we have been together 17 years (wow can't believe its been that long) We have 3 other children besides , all girls. Bethany is 8, is 5 and Lily is 3. We do not see any AS tendencies in them as of yet. Bethany seems to have a generalized anxiety disorder but so far we have been able to help her work through it and have not needed meds. Our family is very close however, right now we seem like people who bump into each other. I just started back to school this fall (after 10 years of being stay at home mom) - I am going back for my bachelors in Elem. Ed! I am enjoying it immensely but it is also tough to balance everything. However, we make Saturdays our family night and we stick pretty thick to that. Other than that - myself, I am 34 (soon to be 35 in March) and I currently take Welbutrin for depression (which I have had for years - my family history is full of depression so it's genetically based for me)Dexedrine for ADHD (what a combo huh?) and something (can't remember the name) for Low Thyroid. Dr. also says I have fibromyalgia - but I have been ignoring it and trying to live life fully - some days the pain is worse than others. But since I have been walking around every day on campus - it seems to be much better. I am a very determined individual so I try not to even think about it at times. I hate to be told I can't do something or be limited - but I am flexible (if that makes any sense LOL) I am loyal and nonjudmental and I love to chat. If any of you like to chat real time - it looks like on the yahoo group page (under my groups) there is a chat function - anybody ever used it? I did on bp14 and loved it. Of course I didn't get to do it very often - it was hard to find time to schedule chats - but sometimes peoples schedules would open up. Anyway - just wanted to give you some more info on me. kam Wanda, mom to (who will be 10 in April, currently in a self contained ED classroom)
