Guest guest
,I do not know the doctor to whom you refer but Dr. Noon who is a thoracic surgeon and likes to remove thyroids removed mine about 5 years ago. He does lots of thyroid surgeries and was great to work with. I wanted my entire thyroid removed and not just one side as most of the research I could find at that time said that you would most likely wind up having the other half removed if you had the type of nodules I had and I did not want a second surgery. Another surgeon told me he was the doctor and he would make that determination and I informed him that when he removed his own thyroid, he could do whatever he wanted but as I was paying him to perform a service, I would pay someone else to perform that service. Dr. Noon removed the entire thyroid and it turned out that there was cancer only on the side that was NOT recommended to be removed. I had a good recovery. AND I have a great scar. You can hardly see it. Unlike my sister in FL who looks like she had her entire head removed and another transplanted due to the huge long scar she has. I have sent several friends to him and they have all been pleased. He is downtown at Methodist.Joanna
