Guest guest
Jen - I have to tell you that I have new found respect for you. My hubby and I were spending some time at the pool to try to get a few more rays on our last day of vacation. All of a sudden, more than 30 8-12 yr old cheerleaders decended on the pool. Mayhem and madness ensued for the next hour - or however long they stayed. We took off after an hour of hearing the screaming and '5-6-7-8'. I've got to give it to you girl! It takes a helluva woman to keep those energy balls in line! Janeen
Guest guest
Ha! Thanks Janeen. Last year was actually easier than this year because last year I had all 10-11 y.o.s with a couple 12 y.o.s. This year they are ALL 12 and 13 y.o.s and that one year makes a HUGE difference. They went from little girls last year to hormone-riddled teenagers this year. Like they are a new species or something. LOL Sorry that your relaxation by the pool was spoiled by the 2-4-6-8s. I hope at least that they were loud (always a problem with mine, they come and go with whispering and yelling, it's like HELLO you are cheerleaders already) and that they were smiling (mine often look as though they are at a funeral, or as if someone is holding a gun to their back until they finish the cheer). The joys of coaching. Jen B. > Jen - I have to tell you that I have new found respect for you. Guest guest
jen jen jen, you are sooooo not working those hormones to your advantage. just go pick up 17 or something, found out who the hotties are-like local heart throb josh harnet (sp) and ask em to visualize a kiss or date with the hottie of their choice-that ought to light them right up! and the one who yells the loudest gets the hottie..... -l > >Reply-To: bodyforlife >To: bodyforlife >Subject: Re: 3 Cheers for Jen B - OT >Date: Mon, 07 Oct 2002 17:15:17 -0000 > >Ha! Guest guest
Lee, Lee, Lee. Obviously you have not had more than one or two crumbs worth of experience with pre-teen and teenage girls. The cute-boy method never works for more than the length of one cheer (approximately 15 seconds in length). They have the attention-spans of gnats at this age. All that will change after their 1st competition this weekend though, I guarantee it. I have 13 new girls on the team this year, and they have NO CLUE what competition is like. They will suddenly be willing to work hard after that 1st competition, unfortunately it's most likely too late at that point. Oh well, we do the best we can with what we have to work with.
