Guest guest
, My ex husband fell in love with me when I was overweight. Then, I gained even more weight when I was pregnant, he still loved me no matter what. He left our marriage 18 months ago. Not a weight related issue. I am almost 2 months post op. He told me yesterday that I was pretty before but am prettier now. I have lost 30 pounds. There are people out there who look beyond the physical and look to other things like personality traits. I always look at the personality first and then of course I need to be attracted to them physically as well. I am attracted to all types of men, even overweight. Love is a complicated thing. I personally believe that God puts people together and there is a special someone for everyone. So, don't give up hope.
Guest guest
> Ok...confession time. > > I consider myself to be open minded, liberal and very few bias. However I'm discovering a most unpleasant envy/jealous streak in myself... > > HOW IN THE HELL DO FAT WOMEN MANAGE TO LAND HUSBANDS!!! > > Never noticed it before. Never thought about it before. However lately it seems whenever I see a big woman with her husband or boyfriend, I just want to stare or gawk. I'm jealous! I'm envious! God forgive me...I want to know what's wrong with me or why am I so ugly that the only way a man would look at me is if I glued $100 bills all over my body. > > Used to think men didn't like fat women, but I'm noticing more men with big women lately and I live in Orange County, CA where it's a sin to be bigger than a size 14. See them all the time at Target and Wal-Mart. Our new receptionist easily outweighs me by 50 pounds and her husband is drop dead gorgeous. What is it??? > > I know some of you had husbands and boyfriends before the DS....how did you hook up? I'm beginning to think someone passed out a pamphlet called " Sexy Guys for Fat Chicks " and forgot to send me one :-( > > I'll get off my soapbox now, but at least I've confessed... > > I'M JEALOUS OF FAT CHICKS WITH MEN!!! > > <---- sneaking off to her corner to be quiet for another couple of months > ************************************ Hey, ... great to see you out and about on-line! Since you came out of lurkdom, I will too. I " snagged " my husband when I was 14 ( & weighed ~145 @ 5ft2in) and he was 16 (way-back in 1963). He was a blind date ... I knew he was IT from that moment on! He didn't know that I would soon out-weigh him! I know that you will be a great catch for some good-looking guy. (Just look at the compliment that stranger gave you!) You are good company and have a wickedly, wonderful sense of humor. Hey, if you saw Halle's interview on Oprah recently, you know she said that she would not ever marry again ... that's because she heard that you will be having the " full-meal-deal " PS ... guys will be looking your way, not hers! Hang in there ... you and the right guy will find each other! Melinda in NM
Guest guest
I can't answer this. I wish I could. I went 31 years of my life with few relationships or dates and I don't recall any of them being healthy and the give and take a good relationship should be. I think I was too needy and wanted it to much. Who knows? I can say that when I did finally find love was when I had decided it was not something I " needed " I determined that if my life were to be single it would be the best I could make it. I started to travel by myself and get involved in a group that meant a lot to me. I continued to say prayers for someone to love and who loved me but my heart was eased about it. When I met my current husband I was initially a bit underwhelmed. It is funny how the blinders can come off and you can see the things that are really important. Caring, honesty, commitment. I met him at a time in my life where I could appreciate the wonder of it all and was beyond the shallowness of my youth. I now consider my prayers answered in the best way for ME. I will pray for the same for you.. Big caring hugs..
