Are porcine thyroid meds the problem -- should I not consider taking them?

Was on synthroid for 45+ yrs -- despite protests that I cannot tolerate lactose

-- then mostly have been on levothyroxine for several yrs (compounded for the

last 4 yrs -- tho that is becoming problematic w/pharmacy errors regarding

fillers). One dr prescribed compounded porcine thyroid meds (PCCA's w/their

Avicel=cellulose) in Jan; that caused pretty bad diarrhea. Put back on

levothyroxine for sev mos to allow my gut problems to settle down. Then ERFA

thyroid was prescribed -- tried it in June & again in Oct -- both times got even

worse diarrhea. My dr wants to prescribe Armour thyroid (which I know has

fillers in it that will cause more trouble) -- her nurse basically ignored me

reminding them that I've now tried porcine thryoid 3X & had really bad outcomes

& all but insisted (after I also pointed out that Armour has fillers I likely

cannot tolerate in it) that I " do as I'm told " . My pharmacy suggested that the

dr prescribe just the Avicel as a test (so we can determine which is the culprit

-- the cellulose or the porcine thyroid powder -- & then consider whether we

should try compounding T3 & T4 meds for me). As you pointed out to me in Jan or

Feb that the porcine meds can be problematic to those of us who tend to have gut

problems, I am starting to wonder if I should/should not be willing to try

Armour (which my dr's nurse says is so much superior that I should ignore my

failure to tolerate porcine thyroid 3X already and my knowledge that Armour

contains fillers that are likely to cause more trouble).

The pharmacy's suggestion sounds a whole lot wiser so I'm wondering which of

them sounds better to those of you who've had much more experience with these

meds. Any/all thoughts on this whole situation are welcome.
