Guest guest
Food Wise: IF you will have someone who is willing to wait on you after surgery I wouldn't buy any food. I bought a bunch of food and the ONLY thing I wanted was scambled eggs from Denny's or Perkos. The rest of the food would have been a total waste if I hadn't had my two kids and hubby in tow to eat it! My tastes changed significantly following surgery - (they are back to normal now though) - things I liked the day before surgery sounded awful to me a few days later. Comfort wise: I am a comfort creature - I brought my own pillows and quilt, ear plugs, airline pillow - although I didn't use any of these things at the hospital (except earplugs) I was very happy I brought them when I got to the hotel. AN eye mask would have been nice when the lab workers threw on the lights at 4:00 am to draw blood! hugs, cindy lee > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Hi Amy! I have one of those " chair pillows " . I got it from a store called The Healthy Back. It's shaped like a chair, only it sits on your bed, if that makes sense. It's like it's only the top part of the chair and your bed is the lower part. I still use it every night because I have arthritis in my hips and it hurts to lie down completely. Since you won't be able to lay down straight for a few months after surgery, I can't recommend one of these things enough! It was a life saver for me. Or you could get one of those wedge pillows that they sell in medical supply stores. As for food, I ate lots of eggs, cheese, saltine crackers, Viactiv for calcium, Flintstones mutlti-vitamins, refried beans, cashews, and lots of ice water. Hope this helps! Hugs!
