Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I had a 5 level lumbar fusion on 10/02 & I'm now crooked, leaning to one side. I'm seriously considering having another surgery to see if anything can help. I never had any numbness before the surgery or any other time. About 3 days ago I realized that my right thigh was numb. I thought I had slept wrong & it would go away. Today it's still there & now the right side on my butt is numb also. Has anyone experienced anything like this? What was the cause? Thanks, Bev in sunny Santa Cruz, CA
Guest guest
Hi Bev, I grew up on the Peninsula and spent a lot of time in Santa Cruz. My 13 year old is begging me to take her to the boardwalk soon. Anyway..... I have experienced numbness in my thigh and butt on many occasions. For me it's a pinched nerve. I also have sciatica in that leg. I would let your doctor know about it. Have you had problems in this leg before? There really isn't much you can do for it. I have what's called " drop foot " in the affected leg also. When it's bad I tend to drag that foot which tends to make me fall. Quite a lovely scene. Kathleen in Calif. Guest guest
Hi BevD, I had similar problems about 10 years ago and it turned out to be a blocked artery in the common iliac artery. I have blockages on both sides and got a stent in the left. This numbness usually occurred from the hip down to the foot. If it is accompanied by burning pins and needles, it is probably a pinched nerve instead. Check for a good pulse on the top of your foot just outside of tendon that goes to your big toe. If you can't feel a pulse you need to get to the doctor soon. Mark S. Jordan zorbasci@... --- BevD wrote: > Today it's still there & now the right side > on my butt is numb also.
