Dear Group,Someone recently mentioned that her dr. recommended stockings . I have been wearing compression aka "Anti Embolism" stockings made by TEDS for a while now. Bedrest and leg elevation get the swelling down, and the stocking helps to keep it down when I am up and about. Compression stockings come in all strengths and sizes and different brands. Some are above the knee and others just up to the knee. I like the longer ones and roll them down to just above the knee--or else they slip down on me.Some people like using the cheaper elastic bandages. These can be wrapped for best comfort, but I have touble keeping them in place, so I perfer the stockings, which can be bought online. As far as how they look: Here is a picture of me modeling them. At my age I don't care how they look. They seem to keep my remission in tact, and worth wearing inspite of looks. I get my EN in only my left leg so I only wear one stocking. The photo looks like I'm missing an arm. It's there, just behind my back. ;-)Loveidio. EN '68 Strecker

, one of the first things my doctors recommended was wearing the 20 to 30 mg compression socks and they really did help bring the swelling under control. I visited Mayo on 12/7. They are reducing the Prednisone and adding methotrexate. We will have to monitor the neutrophil levels to be sure it doesn't drop to 1000 or lower. They have no clinical evidence of any specific disease so they are calling it inflammatory steriod responsive panniculitis with some evidence of perivascular myopathic involvement. They have mentioned EN in passing, however, there are no positive tests for EN. I still have leukopenia (2.8 WBC). It looks like I have them stumped! Right now I am symptom free with no nodules anywhere. The prednisone still wires me and stress appears to amplify while on the medication. I had to negotiate two labor contracts last week and it darn near fried me. Thanks for listening ...Happy Holidays to
