Guest guest
Hey all...I had heard that in some extreme cases that Dr K will do a > TT at the same time as the DS. ======================================== I haven't heard of him doing this and it would surprise the heck out of me if he would. The operating time would be too long and too many operating fields during one surgery. The risks would jump way up. However, I'm sure he would be willing to do a tummy tuck...let that heal...then do the ds. At USC the doctors there would sometimes insist that it be done that way for the super morbid obese patient. I know of at least one person who chose not to go to USC (Dr. Anthone was there at the time) because Dr. Anthone insisted that the tuck be done first then the DS. Dr. K was willing to do the DS and then the tuck at a later date (which is what the patient wanted.) As always the only truely accurate answer needs to come from Dr. K or his staff. I have been surprised before. Jo

My sister had a panni. in Jan.04 and they removed 45lbs. Dr K had decided to do this before the ds so she could move around better after the ds. He stated to her at the time that he has only recommended this to a handful of patients. Her legs are very thin and he was afraid she would not be mobile enough to help prevents blood clots. Hope this helps. Terri
Guest guest
Mark, I wanted my panniculectomy WITH my tummy tuck really bad. I really tried to talk Dr. K in to it. But his reasons for waiting were very good ones and you should ask him all about it he will convince you too that waiting is a better option. He was willing to do my panni sooner than he might have otherwise because I needed it so much. Believe me the time went fast and that tummy tuck surgery is no easy thing I laugh now thinking how much I wanted both at once and how wise Dr. K was not to do that to me. If you have any specific questions I would be happy to share from my experience. Best wishes! in WA
