Thanks Jim...I'm betting any lipo would cost extra. I don't think I need lipo

in that area but just the removal of the excess skin. If he cut away the top

inch or so of pubic, It wouldn't change things much but make a big difference

in the area. It is one of my " skinnier " areas.....LOL. I dread this apointment

because I'm going to hear what could be done for " extra " and there isn't any

" Extra " . Hopefully things will go better than I expect!

1. Will he " remove " the fat from you back of your sides

2. ill the mons lift be simply a " pull up " or will the fat be removed via

lipo. if it is a pull up, insist that he lipo the fat out before the pull

up.

3. Will you retain your belly button. (Will the on/of switch be repaired.

LOL)

Hi Mel... as a " failed " TT/hernia repair, I would suggest an anchor incision.

cuz.. my mons lift did ok, the panni is gone, a new hernia popped out below the

mesh, but the major thing is/are the pads of abdominal fat that did not get

removed with just a hip to hip incision. They run vertically on either side of

my DS incision. Even Dr K commented on them when I was there earlier this

month. An anchor would have pulled the fat/skin in side to side, not just

up/down. Sort of like matching the DS drain holes one on top of the other. But

the good PS knew better than I LOL. I don't know if this makes anysense to

you, but best of everything with your PS. Betsy

Mel

Your probably correct that anything extra he does will cost extra.

But it is completely free to ask! And it might make a difference in

how far he will go once your under. He might be in a generous mood

and pull a little tighter just to try to make you happy.

I would also ask about any " guarentee " . For example if your

incision ends up " dog-eared " , will he correct it free. My PS said

he could guarentee anything that could be corrected in the office.

(like a dog-ear) for 6 months.

Ask him " what if my incision opens/infection.... " are the follow-up

office visits free or charged. Mine was covered for 6 months. I

only need the usual follow-up.

I also asked him " how much to remove a mole on my eyebrow and a

couple skin tags while I was under " he said " I'll do it free it

only take a second. " He also said " good thing you asked because

even though I would see the skin tags and think they should just be

removed, I couldn't without prior patient approval. "

Ask him about " scar management " You want to try to avoid keloiding

especially on the arms. This could include creams, pressure wraps,

limiting use....

The most important thing to focus on....don't leave his office

depressed about all the extra's you WANT but can't afford....Leave

THRILLED about what you are getting done!

Hugs

Jo
