Janice-

I haven't posted in quite awhile myself....but I am compelled to post

a congrats to you...and all of your accomplishments!

It seems as though I have known you forever, when in actuality it has

been about 14 years- and I know that you have always been awaiting

the day when you would buy your own home. You had posted that

without the DS, you don't know if you would have " taken the plunge " -

but fact is...you have/are taking the plunge...this is the here and

now, and you are experiencing one of many life changing moments.

Although, moving to Shandon will be placing a few extra miles between

us, we are bound together by our friendship, and a surgery that

forever makes us " one " . It is a unique club of positive people,

always in the process of positive life changing moments. I think the

most negative thing I have heard from a DS patient is, " should I get

my arms done???...should I not get my arms done..?? " - I consider this

refreshing. We don't whine about the cost of gas, the up-keep of

cleaning our homes, or lack of friendships. Why? Because we have

probably stayed within our homes long enough to realize the cost of

gas, compared to the thrill of getting out living is NOTHING. Being

able to maintain our home is an awing experience when some of us have

been limited to oxygen and movement. AND.....true, understanding

friendships like the ones we have established here will be with us

for life, we don't even have to consider them " temporary " .

I have never been part of such a " sisterhood/brotherhood " , but am

certainly honored to be part of one now.

So.....you will be moving into your new home...your very own casa! I

know there is alot of work involved in the big move, but I smile with

the knowledge that you have all the energy you will need to make the

big move.

Congrats to Janice...being a single female...buying her very own home

on " the central coast " (well...kinda)...BEFORE she turns 40!!!

You go girl!
