Guest guest
Anne and All, Do you have anymore information about why they decided this? Ultram has kept me off the narcotics, even if I have to take close to the max dose. NSAIDS don't help. Is there some new finding about Ultram/Tramadol that says it is not effective for Fibromyalgia? What about peripheral neuropathy or chronic phantom pain? 3 Cheers, Alan Raleigh, NC > Hi All > I've been pretty much lurking around recently ... <> > On top of that, I had been taking Ultram to help take the edge of my pain (it didn't take it away but I could function somewhat); however, Keystone Mercy (my med ins.) has decided that Ultram is unnecessary and wants me take either NSAIDS (which don't make a dent) or narcotics. Guest guest
Alan, I don't think it ever was indicated for FMS and you are right - that can cause problems with ins. co. with off-label usage. But who on this board actually takes medications indicated for the ailment they have? That is such a common practice and it is ridiculous that the ins.co. is starting to deny her claim. Like I said before - there is alway s a loop hole that works in your favor - sometimes it isn't obvious, but once you figure it out- you are golden! Guest guest
My initial dx was that I was having a bad reaction to Ultram causing anxiety and anxiety attacks. Although I have in fact RSD with a huge tendency toward anxiety I still think Ultram which as the label says works by unknown means, should be taken with caution. Guest guest
Alan, My daughter has fybro and takes Ultram. What a hokey thing for someone to say. I have a burst fracture in my back and take Ultram-Tramadol for that too. That drug helps many malfunctions. For lack of a better word. donna
