Yup. It sounds like the tumor caused her to drop the mask she was hiding

behind for those many years. In the months before my nada died, it was

like her layers of negativity and hatred were slowly peeled off by the

cancer like the layers of an onion. At the end she could no longer

speak. She had slowly 'forgotten' who she hated and just how much she

hated them. She was like a pussy cat toward the end. But it was still a

tremendous relief when, on her deathbed, she finally breathed her last

breath. I turned to dad and said, " That was her last breath! " And then

she took one more breath. And dad said, " She just HAD to win (by

breathing just one more time)! " And then there were no more breaths and

we both felt a ton of weight lift from our shoulders. It was 12 years

later that I first learned about BPD.

Edith/those with Nada death issues,

WOW- Amazing how you and your dad handled that situation with nada. So scary

for me to think about, probably because in my mind I sometimes feel so ALONE

dealing with all the what if's re:my own nada.....Not sure how I would

handle such a situation with her, even though I have done this with many others

whom I loved and lost. NADA is so different, so I guess I just wonder all the

time, WHAT IF?

What if I were in your shoes all those yrs ago, or anyone else's shoes now

who has to deal with the death or dying of NADA. Yes, a fear it seems to

be...You did such a fabulous job at explaining your own situation, and I am not

sure what I would do, how I will react, or you name it......You and dad did a

great job! Proud to hear of this story, I thank you for sharing..

Something I really fear, but of course who knows what tomorrow will bring

and nada was just with me...
